Business Development Executive / Agency Sales Executive required for this Edinburgh based Tour Operator.

This busy, successful Edinburgh-based Tour Operator are looking for a Business Development Executive to join their busy marketing team.
The core responsibility here is develop and manage relationships with this Tour Operator's UK-wide network of travel agent partners.

Other duties include:
- Cover both sectors of this Tour Operator.
- Split your time between the Edinburgh office and on-the-road.
- Make sales and training calls.
- Maintain relationships with existing trade partners - travel agent consortia, independent agents and homeworkers.
- Identify and grow new travel agent partners for this Tour Operator's brands.
- Respond to agent queries via phone and email.
- Plan and deliver in-store training to develop agents' product knowledge and brand awareness.
- Organise own travel, accommodation and meetings with appropriate agency contacts.
- Manage brochure supplies, ordering brochures for agents and monitoring stock levels.
- Analyse sales figures to find trends and areas for improvement, looking at comparisons between seasons, conversion levels, etc.
- Check daily reports to identify high value bookings and trends, following up with agents where possible.
- Assist in delivering promotional campaigns and sales incentives, working in conjunction with the marketing team.
- Attend and, where necessary, organisation of industry events/dinners/roadshows.
- Follow up leads from visits and events and feed back to the marketing and sales managers any areas for improvement.
- Assist the marketing team with ad hoc admin and project work as required, including brochure production, promotional emails and promotional posters.
- Conduct administration and database management.

The successful candidate will be an asset to this team and this role will see them progress in their travel career.
You will have strong organizational skills, strong, proven customer service skills, excellent relationship management skills and have relevant experience from within the travel industry.
It is essential that the applicants are ok with being away from home as this role is split between the Edinburgh office and on-the-road, covering the UK. You will have strong interpersonal skill, communication skills, presentation skills, numeracy / analytical skills and possess an excellent telephone manner.
It's a strong advantage to have European destination knowledge, existing travel agent relationships and also an advantage to have some ski knowledge and copywriting skills but not essential.
Good, all-round IT skills including Excel, travel software and photoshop skills are also desirable.

Out of office travel can be via plane, train or car hire here to suit travel partner location and simplicity.
