CORPORATE EVENTS TRAVEL CONSULTANT - BERKSHIRE

Our client is a leading conference management company based in Berkshire, with offices worldwide. The expansion of their Business Travel team is an excellent opportunity to use your business travel reservations experience in a different field, and earn an excellent salary package close to home!

JOB DESCRIPTION:
*To be accountable for fulfilling International Travel related requests for airline, hotel, and car rentals to result in the most appropriate and lowest cost for booked itinerary and maximum commission claimed.
*To safeguard that the highest calibre of services for our clients is carried out at all times.
*Be the 'expert' in ensuring knowledge of airline rules and regulations are up to date.
*Adhere to SOP's, and travel handbooks ensuring you are fully trained and competent
*Monitor, sorts and work global distribution systems (GDS) queues daily to maintain quality control.
*Knows and properly uses; airline terminology, codes, fare basis, airline rules and tariffs, resource guides, books, and industry contacts.
*Ability to work independently, exercising discretion and judgement in a pressured environment and meet tight timelines
*Maintaining on-going contact with clients during preparation of requested information
*Effectively follow up on all open opportunities
*To handle all administrative tasks in an efficient and timely manner

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
*To book international reservations for air travel, hotel and car rentals, following up when necessary to complete the reservation.
*Responds to requests for international price quotations utilizing automated system(s) for domestic and international itineraries; queues to rate desk when appropriate.
*Promotes the acceptance of fares, rates, and suppliers that match the client's travel programme policies and negotiated proposals.
*The role of the Travel Consultant will be responsible for liaising with all appropriate internal departments on a global scale e.g. Sales, BD Proposals and Operations Teams to ensure the appropriate budget is produced.
*Ensure that all external regulatory legal requirements such as IATA and ATOL are adhered to.
*Their role is pivotal in delivering the professionalism that is synonymous with the company and crucial success factor will be to champion the culture and values of the company at all times during their interaction with the Client, colleagues and 3rd party suppliers.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
*Minimum of 2 years current experience as a Travel Consultant (Business Travel Consultant preferred)
*Experience and knowledge of Sabre GDS
*Have a good understanding of worldwide travel and fares
*Proven professional customer service skills including by telephone
*Able to develop excellent working relationships at all levels
*Flexible approach and enthusiastic to learn new skills and embrace change to progress
*Ideally available for an immediate start or at short notice

THE PACKAGE:
*The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of up to £27,000 (negotiable) and will benefit from working close to home
