A rare opportunity has arisen with a luxury self-catering specialist for an experienced General Manager to manage their stunning site at John O'Groats. The site is set within one of the most beautiful natural wildlife areas in the UK where guests can enjoy whale watching, a rich selection of birdlife, beautiful coastal walks and possibly even a glimpse of the Northern Lights. As General Manager you will be managing a sizeable site made up of luxury lodges, self-catering apartments and on-site café and shop.

This will be a very hands-on role with complete responsibility of the day to day management of the site and the team of up to 20 staff during the summer. You will be responsible for performance of the site (front of house, housekeeping, retail, food and beverage operations) as well as budget, financial and commercial performance. Key to your success will be the ability to build and inspire a loyal and supportive team as well as integrate naturally and develop the support of the local community. We are looking for someone with a rare mix of skills that can range from practical maintenance tasks to managing budgets and maximising profits.

The role of General Manager will require you to live on site and accommodation is provided as part of the package. Salary is circa £30k depending on levels of experience. You will be joining a unique business that focuses on providing luxury breaks in the most beautiful areas of the UK, and they are keen to support, develop and progress their staff as their business continues to grow.
