You will be responsible for preparation of the monthly management accounts and statutory accounts, budgeting and forecasting, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, preparation and reconciliation of UK and European payrolls, overseeing the VAT reporting process, and some business partnering including recommending process improvements to optimise performance.
Management Accounting Role:

  • Updating currency exchange rates in both Sage and VBS
  • Monthly foreign Bank revaluation to check currency gain or loss
  • Running periodic Backups of Sage
  • Bank reconciliation including foreign currency accounts
  • Credit Card Reconciliation in different currencies
  • Prepare monthly management accounts by posting all journals, accruals, prepayments
  • Update fixed asset registrar
  • Close VBS monthly once all transaction for the month has been posted
  • Produce financial statements profit and loss accounts and variance analysis
  • Prepare Cash flows and ongoing review of cash flow and sales performance
  • Produce the annual budget and periodic forecasting
  • Provide management reporting for decision-making and evaluation
  • Preparation work for annual statutory accounts
  • Report on company assets and liabilities including balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Closing month end and Year end including posting all year end adjustment and opening balances on Sage
  • Calculation, presentation and payment of VAT quarterly
  • Ensuring compliance with all financial regulations
  • Manage and help colleagues including day to day communications as well as succession planning of daily work


  • Processing monthly payroll using Sage payroll following each step accordingly
  • Checking with management for any changes to salaries
  • Setting up new members of the staff
  • Processing leavers
  • Calculating overtime
  • Making the monthly salary payment on the last working day of the month
  • Paying PAYE on time each month
  • Keeping hard copies of the reports as well as saving copies on back office
  • Manging special situations like maternity or sickness
  • Ensuring and updating any new changes to legislations
  • Year-end processing issuing p60

Now Let’s Talk About You:

  • Prior Management Accounting experience with an inbound tour operator/travel wholesaler is ESSENTIAL
  • Part qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA desirable
