Assistant Travel Manager Winchester £19,000 Basic OTE £40,000 + My client is a leading worldwide tour operator based in Winchester.

They are now recruiting for a Assistant Sales Manager for their Winchester store.

The Assistant Manager will support the Sales Manager to ensure the sales team meets targets and goals by overseeing all aspects of the sales process, ensuring profitability and service is maximized for the business.

Provide mentoring and coaching to the team including the development of the Apprenticeship programme,

Assistant Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Manager in achieving team targets
  • Assist with motivation of Sales Consultants on a daily basis
  • Maintain sales focus at all times on sales floor
  • Mentor and support new staff
  • Act as Duty Manager when requested by Sales Manager
  • Assist with questions and queries from other Sales Consultants
  • Act as a role model at all times
  • Handle escalated customer complaints to arrive at a mutually satisfactory outcome
  • Supervise ‘team buddy’ system to ensure all customers receive excellent service in the absence of their own consultant
  • Collate and communicate feedback on success of promotional activity
  • Help ensure the branch reflects corporate branding at all levels
  • Assist with maintaining general office housekeeping
  • To QC new sales bookings ensuring all parts of the booking are considered and match and that the “best pricing” is used, to advise and instruct sales on best practice to maximize sales
Assistant Travel ManagerTeam Responsibilities:

  • Assist the sales manager to ensure that ALL advertising, pricing and discounts are communicated to the entire team and their understanding is confirmed
  • Assist Sales Manager in interviewing and recruiting new Sales Consultants
  • Support Sales Managers in early stages of any employee relations issues
  • Communicate Travelbag targets, standards & expectations effectively at all levels
  • Plan and deliver effective shop meetings on a regular basis with the Sales Manager
  • Actively participate in Team Meetings, or conduct in Sales Managers absence
  • Recommend constructive improvements to system or working practices
  • Supervise incoming calls via CMS and ensure that team members are on calls for maximum amount of time
  • Achieve monthly sales targets as agreed with Sales Manager
  • Achieve Team Sales Target as agreed with Head of Sales
  • Monitor and mentor all sales staff to achieve company goals
Assistant Travel Manager Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Must have a proven track record in a management/team leader capacity within the travel industry
  • Proven track record in coaching team members
  • Must have previous experience of travel sales
  • Willing and able to motivate and lead a team to achieve results

Assistant Travel Manager Salary and Benefits

Base salary to £19,000

OTE of £40,000

Annual super bonus

23 days annual leave
