My client is an international flag carrier who operate regular flight programmes from several London Airports and they are now recruiting for a Station Manager to manage their London Luton Airport operations.

This is no 9 till 5 job, the Airport Station Manager will be expected to be available day and night for shifts or via the telephone to deal with arising issues.

*Managing all aspects of the entire ground operations.
*Managing a small team of Flight Supervisors.
*Implementing passenger handling strategy in line with company procedures and policies as well as airport regulations.
*Maintaining company procedures in all aspects of operations and communications including the emergency response plan.
*Ensuring proper handling of flights and all company procedures are adhered to while providing excellent service to our passengers.
*Resourcing and negotiating contracted services.
*Constant liaison with all service providers and handling companies to ensure contracted terms and conditions are met along with negotiation new terms if business interest desires.
*Coordinating changes of schedule between Scheduling Department / SCS and other departments at the branch such as maintenance, security, reservations, sales, handling agents etc and keep Ground Operations Manager abroad advised.
*Ensuring all reports are submitted immaculately by specified deadlines.
*Responsible for administrative duties.


To be considered for the role of Airport Station Manager we are looking for the following experience, skills and qualifications as a minimum:

*Solid experience in managing ground operations including establishing and implementing operational procedures in flight management and other areas of ground operations
*Knowledge of Crisis Management Procedures
*Weight and Balance licence
*Confident handling of ALTHEA departure control system and Amadeus
*Knowledge of the following procedures: handling service breakdowns, medical equipment on board, handling passengers with special needs
*Excellent negotiation, communication and liaison skills
*The ability of making strategic decisions
*Working unpredictable hours, this role requires the Station manager to be available on the telephone anytime in case of flight delays or any other reasons staff might seek guidance or authorisation.
*A strong Flight Supervisor or Duty Manager who is confident in making decisions and looking to step up into the Manager role may also be considered.
