Are you an experienced Sales and Reservations Manager/Team Leader with a number of years in the travel industry? Are you currently looking for a new challenge or looking to step up into a more senior position? If so, please read on….

My client, a leading travel company in London, is currently recruiting for a Sales and Reservations Manager.

Objectives/Role:

*Achieve sales revenue, passenger, occupancy and yield targets by the timely recruitment, training, leading and management of the Sales and After Sales teams ensuring high standards of customer service.
*Working closely with the Commercial and Product Manager and Marketing Manager implement business generation and sales campaigns and report on agreed KPIs.
*Working closely with the Operations Manager, ensure high standards of accuracy and attention to detail in all holiday sales in line with departmental targets.
Responsibilities:

1.Responsible for hitting sales, revenue and business generation targets for all products through the recruitment, development, motivating and monitoring and management of the Sales and After Sales teams whilst ensuring rotas meet business needs and that high standards of customer service are delivered consistently.

2.Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Team Leaders/Seniors and After Sales teams to ensure that sales performance and conversion rates for both incoming and proactive calls, emails and live chat for all products are monitored and targets met whilst delivering high standards of customer service.

3.Responsible for initiating, implementing and monitoring incentives and commission programmes for all products in line with departmental budgets and targets.

4.Responsible for initiating, delivering and reporting on proactive sales, upselling and business generating campaigns, whilst maintaining customer satisfaction and service levels and for delivering training to improve performance and maintain motivation.


5.Working closely with Team Leaders/Seniors responsible for trouble-shooting, problem solving and liaising with clients and agents with regards to accommodation changes, booking issues and customer service issues.

6.Responsible for ensuring high levels of product knowledge across the sales team to maximise cross-selling opportunities, ensuring the timely production and distribution of sales support information and product updates within the sales department.

7.Responsible for initiating and reporting on sales by product and campaign, analysing barriers to sales and weaknesses in product knowledge/systems so as to maximise revenue and passenger numbers whilst ensuring high levels of customer service.

8.Working closely with the Commercial and Product Manager and Marketing Manager, responsible for the development and analysis of sales reports and sales pipeline statistics (involving the development of the CRM database/pipeline) in order to maximise sales performance for all products.

9.Responsible for ensuring all agent and new business leads are monitored and maximised by effective management and reporting and for organising promotional and business generating events such as VIP trips.

10.Liaising closely with marketing, responsible for ensuring the contents of marketing communications match business targets/sales and assisting with updating of the websites/blogs when necessary.

11.As part of the management team joint responsibility for duty cover over weekends and holidays and acting as a member of the crisis management team in the event of a major incident.

12.Other duties as agreed with the Sales and Marketing Director


Considerations:

With this role, a normal week (5 days) includes Saturday and Sundays. Lieu days are to be taken in agreement with your line manager. Shifts will be on a rota basis and spread between 8.30 and 19.30. There will also be nights away from home for promotional events or educationals.

Time off in lieu / holidays will not be able to be taken during January. The role may require extended periods abroad (e.g. for up to 4 weeks) for events or educationals. Duty cover is required over weekends.


Requirements:

Strong people manager with proven experience
Experience in recruitment and training
Proven experience of using KPIs to hit targets and raise standards
Experience of development/use of sales pipelines
Experience of dealing with customer service issues
Experience of tailor made travel with high standards of customer service

Package: A very competitive salary of £33k - £36k will be offered to the successful candidate plus commission, as well as other benefits associated with working in the travel industry.
