Job Role Summary:

  • Responsible for the total performance and output of the sales team;
  • Provide sales leadership, build the capabilities of the sales team and motivate the team to optimum performance;
  • Create and implement strategy to increase sales, efficiency and client service;
  • Monitor sales and client service via KPIs, service questionnaires and call recordings to maintain high performance;
  • Develop and implement performance improvement measures where required;
  • Apply and manage best practice throughout the sales process;
  • Manage staff input of enquiry, call and quote data to facilitate accurate performance analysis;
  • Work with the Commercial & Senior Product Manager to ensure team have all the required information to facilitate quick and effective enquiry turnarounds;
  • Work with the Agency Sales Manager to gather feedback from travel agents and agree measures to develop and strengthen trade relationships.
  • On-going development of sales processes and techniques;
  • Manage all areas of sales staff recruitment and training;
  • Manage all aspects of the Sales incentive scheme, including development of the most effective scheme to drive and reward strong sales performance and excellent client service;
  • Work with Customer Service, Product Managers and suppliers to resolve any pre or on tour issues;
  • Preparation and distribution of management reports and analysis;
  • Direct report line for the Sales Team Leaders and the Operations Manager;
  • Report line to C&K Director.

 

 

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Mid to senior level sales management experience in tour operating;
  • Experience in managing and developing a team of staff;
  • Ability to lead and motivate with a positive and calm temperament;
  • Proactive with an ability to show strategic skills and identify new ways of working;
  • Ability to identify training needs and plan training sessions to improve performance;
  • Results driven with a sound understanding of sales KPIs;
  • Highly numerate, with an ability to gather, analyse and interpret data;
  • Highly computer literate, thorough knowledge of Excel and Word and previous experience of a tour operator reservations system;
  • Experience of CRS (Galileo preferred);
  • Articulate with a high standard of written English and excellent attention to detail;
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to work on own initiative;
  • Organised, process driven and able to work to deadlines;
  • Experience in working with group and private travel;
  • Well-travelled, and with an understanding and comprehensive knowledge of the luxury and cultural travel market.
