Content Regional Manager (North-Asia) Global eCommerce

Our client is looking for an experienced manager, who is energetic, outgoing and personable, to lead their Content Editors team in North-Asia, to build and maintain quality content for our client, one of the world's most successful online travel companies.

They are one of the fastest growing online hotel booking platforms in Asia, with a global footprint. Despite the success and size of the company, they still operate with a start-up feel.

Role:

As Content Regional Manager, you will be responsible for several markets in your region, and manage the Content Editors operating from these markets. You will:

  • Lead the development and optimisation of local content and photography projects to continuously improve the quality of content on the company's website
  • Attract, motivate, coach, and provide daily guidance to your team
  • Partner with accommodation partners, content partners, and local managers to ensure projects success by meeting or exceeding KPIs

Responsibilities:

Lead a team of Content Editors to:

  • Acquire, review and continuously improve property content and photos that accurately reflect the character and facilities of the hotel, resulting in maximum bookings
  • Ensure web page content is maintained to the highest quality standards
  • Collect essential hotel content by contacting accommodation properties and internal partners
  • Handle day-to-day commercial communication with partners by telephone, e-mail and in-person meetings
  • Support content intake and upkeep in back-end content management system

Optimise processes to achieve goals and objectives:

  • Own team KPIs, project goals, deadlines, and reporting
  • Develop processes to ensure greater operational efficiencies and sharing of best practices
  • Implement tools for the regular tracking, review and reporting of performance of teams in delivering KPIs and targets

Develop team-members skills, ensure high motivation, support career development:

  • Review and validate employee training, technical proficiency and quality of work
  • Support ongoing training and personal development

Support content product research and development:

  • Conduct market research into trends in the industry and market to ensure the competitiveness of the company's products
  • Benchmark content against competitors, reporting up competitors changes and innovations and competitive gaps
  • Drive feedback and suggestions to help develop current / new, local / international products

Requirements:

Management and leadership:

  • Minimum 2 years of direct management of at least 5 employees
  • Proven leadership skills, team leader and team player
  • Professional "get it done" attitude and work ethic
  • Able to inspire and train the team; caring and supportive to team-members

Senior presence, strong communication and interpersonal skills:

  • Great face-to-face and telephone communication skills
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese/Mandarin both speaking and writing
  • Ability to communicate value proposition and recommend solutions to potential partners
  • Understanding of the principles of financial metrics associated with ecommerce and online partnerships

Strong educational and practical background, high interest in Content development:

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited university
  • Experience in Operations, process-optimisation, logistics - advantage
  • Experience and / or strong interest in content and / or photography or photography editing - advantage
  • Experience in technology development - advantage
