Aviation Manager

Working closely with the head of aviation and commercial team, the Aviation Product Manager role will be responsible for the day to day account management of this fast growing, aword wining travel companies airline portfolio. This is a role for a commercially-minded manager with excellent negotiating and strong influencing skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities or the Aviation Manager

  • Manage the portfolio of key airline accounts whilst building strong business relationships
  • Negotiate and contract preferential commercial deals and rates ensuring our company always have the best rates in the industry
  • Ensure as a company we have full fare content (leisure and corporate) with all airline partners
  • Ensure all commercial deals are maximised to exceed targets
  • Securing additional revenue opportunities through partnership agreements, tactical activity and exclusive fares
  • Analyse sales performance of airline partners and ensure the business is up to date with sales performance, issues and opportunities
  • Monitor sales performance to optimise pricing and maximise margin
  • Work with the commercial team/manager to recommend and set air pricing levels based on competitor analysis, sales trends, booking data and revenue goals
  • Liaising with all other functions across the business including Ticketing, BSP, Reservations and Operations to ensure best practice and highlight any potential efficiencies
  • React to any Aviation issues that arise, and liaise with all relevant departments ensuing correct information is passed to the business and adopt collaborative working
  • Ensure airfare tactical offers are promoted in an effective and timely manner to our network of staff, by liaising with the destination and promotion and reservations teams
  • Oversee the distribution of all airfares through the GDS and in house systems
  • Oversee the aviation development and distribution strategy working closely with IT to ensure we are ahead of competition and looking to the future

Skills Required - for the Aviation Manager

  • Previous experience in a similar ( Aviation or Project Manager) role
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness
  • Excellent account management and relationship skills
  • Knowledge of airline contracts including CAT25 and CAT35
  • Existing contacts within the aviation industry
  • GDS trained at an advanced level (preferably Galileo)
  • Familiar with CAT25 and CAT35 private fare loading
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Microsoft Office
