Travelbag, part of the Emirates owned dnata Travel is recruiting for an Assistant Sales Manager to join the call centre based in Sandycroft, just outside Chester. In this role you will support the  Sales Manager to ensure SalesTeam meets its targets and goals by overseeing all aspects of the sales process, ensuring profitability and service is maximized. This will include providing mentoring and coaching to the Sales Team including those in the Sales Development Programme.

Key Tasks

  • Support  the Sales Manager to motivate the Sales Team to achieve achieve targets. Maximise sales turnover/profitability by providing quality service, specialist knowledge and salesmanship to all customers, ensuring  that  the  sales  team(s) are  informed  and  organized  to  effectively  produce  outstanding sales
  • Act as Duty Manager when required
  • Handle any customer queries or complaints in an efficient and courteous manner, achieving a mutually agreeable outcome
  • Supervise ‘team buddy’ system to ensure all customers receive excellent service in the absence of their own consultant
  • Collate and communicate feedback on success of promotional activity
  • Quality check new sales  bookings 
  • Support the Sales Manager  to ensure  that  ALL advertising, pricing and  discounts are  communicated  to  the sales team
  • Support the Sales Manager in early stages of any employee relations issues
  • Actively participate in Team Meetings, or conduct in Sales Managers absence
  • Recommend constructive improvements to system or working practices
  • Supervise incoming calls via CMS and ensure that team members are on calls for maximum amount of time
  • In conjunction with the Sales Manager ensure that new Sales Consultants follow transition plans so they are assimilated into the team quickly 
  • Proactively seek to enhance personal development 
  • Provide training and feedback sessions following familiarisation trips
  • Use personal travel experience to provide excellent advice to all customers and provide training and feedback sessions following familiarisation trips to Consultants

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous travel sales experience essential; - ideally long-haul tailor made

  • A proven track record in a management/team leader capacity

  • Proven track record in coaching team members
  • Willing and able to motivate and lead a team to achieve results
  • Results driven
  • GDS experience (Galileo) desirable
