Travel Customer Service Manager
Newcastle area
Up to £20,000 dependent on experience

A well-established, successful and dynamic travel agency are looking for an experienced Travel Customer Service Manager to join their small but very busy support team.

We are looking for someone with a minimum 2 years travel industry experience in a managerial or leadership role.

As a Travel Customer Service Manager you will supervise, guide and motivate colleagues to work together and ensure good customer service is delivered at all times. You will coordinate team skills to match the best-suited team member to a particular task, ensure deadlines are met, oversee work productivity and resolve any issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Providing direction to the team to ensure customer service calls and emails are answered in a timely, efficient and knowledgeable manner
  • Maximise the performance of the team
  • Monitor, identify and coordinate system and work flow improvements to enhance the team's efficiency
  • Helping the team with any difficult issues and difficult customer situations that may arise on a daily basis
  • Summarise issues and points of note to address with suppliers on a weekly basis
  • Monitor complaint levels and ensure timely resolution in line with regulatory guidelines
  • Head up the department in the Operations Manager's absence
  • Dealing with customer queries by telephone and email
  • Dealing with suppliers to fulfil the client query
  • Monitor any urgent client bookings and action accordingly


Skills/Qualities Required:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Displays enthusiasm and enjoyment in carrying out duties and is committed to the role
  • Has good leadership skills and can motivate a team
  • Good attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks
  • Computer literate

This is a Full Time, Permanent role and requires working rota shift work over 3 shifts which cover the 7 day per week opening hours from 8am to 10pm.
