Travel consultant - Required for this expanding tour operator/wholesaler based in a great location in the city. They are looking for someone to carry out a mixture of reservations and operations and will pay up to £22,000 + bonus and benefits and is initially a 12 month contract.

Travel consultants duties
-Creating quotations using the online reservation tool
- Booking accommodation, transfers, flights and other added extras as requested by clients
- Informing suppliers of any amendments to existing reservations
- Answering telephone calls from internal/external customers, follow-up calls to convert quotations and drive sales
-Drive incremental sales by up-selling and cross selling the product portfolio
-Dealing with external customers who are in resort - solving queries/issues and providing additional assistance where required
-Proactively dealing with customer service issues by liaising with Contracting, Accounts, Inventory and Dataload departments where necessary
-Dealing with queries from hotels with regards to reservations
- Ensuring that payables functions are completed for all reservations which includes adjusting invoices for clients and back-office for hotel payments as well as ensuring free night offers are applied to bookings as necessary and completing any profit or loss forms as required.
-Monitoring email inbox for confirmed / cancelled / amended reservations and updating the system with the information received from the suppliers
-Providing alternative accommodation options should the chosen request not be available
-Handling price match requests and using initial empowerment or escalating to contracting to respond to enquiry within set service level agreement
-Monitoring email inbox for new requests from internal clients and adhering to Service Level Agreements in order to maintain highest level of response times

Travel consultants skills required
-Excellent Customer Service
-Time Management Skills
-The ability to think outside of the box and use own initiative to overcome challenges
-Strong background in a Retail Travel or Tour Operator environment.
-Travel qualifications would be beneficial e.g. knowledge of travel geography/popular destinations around the world is essential.
-GDS knowledge preferred but not essential
