Role Summary

Responsible for the sales, marketing, online chat, long haul and cruise functions for the Broadway Travel, Travel Interaction, Inspired Luxury Escapes and Holidaydeals2Go brands. 

The position is a Board appointment which will involve attendance at Board Meetings and being part of the key strategic decision making process of the business, as well as the statutory duties attached to being a Company Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the sales, marketing, online chat, long haul and cruise divisions including but not limited to Broadway Travel, Travel Interaction, Inspired Luxury Escapes and Holidaydeals2Go, including the setting and control of budgets and profit and loss, with the aim of achieving and exceeding KPIs, whilst driving and fulfilling calls across all sales divisions
  • Drive and manage trading activity, whilst working closely with the Digital and Product teams in order to develop new products and services for customers and to ensure that all KPI’s and strategic goals are met
  • Contribute to and execute an effective sales and marketing strategy, including providing regular updates, revisions and modifications where necessary
  • Increase brand awareness and identify new market opportunities with both existing and new suppliers
  • Identify business growth potential and new sales and marketing opportunities and initiate action plans to approach and secure new business
  • Manage relationships with existing media and advertising partners, including negotiation of contracts and identifying new opportunities
  • Provide leadership to the sales, marketing, online chat, long haul and cruise teams including providing coaching, guidance, support and setting personal development plans for team members to achieve their full potential
  • Establish and define monthly and annual performance goals for all teams, and monitor and control on a continual basis
  • Monitor and analyse market, industry and competitor trends and establish both market and target customer strategies for the Company
  • Ensure the timely delivery of quality calls to the call centres and homeworkers at an acceptable cost per call
  • Develop and oversee the continuous improvement of sales and marketing processes to ensure quality, accuracy and consistency
  • Ensure all teams deliver the highest standard of departmental and cross departmental communication, teamwork and customer service
  • Representing the Company at conferences, trade fairs and networking events based both in the UK and overseas
  • Attending board meetings, manager’s meetings, conferences and any other relevant meetings
  • The role will require regular travel to the Company’s offices along with travel to various locations throughout the UK and overseas.

Skills / Experience Required

  • Significant experience of working in the travel industry in a similar role, preferably at Director level
  • Ability to predict market trends, improve market share in all product channels and identify new sales and marketing opportunities
  • Proven record of people management with the ability to lead, manage and develop a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive, enthusiastic working environment in order to drive and maximise sales and marketing opportunities
  • Excellent strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret relevant management information
  • Ability to build strong and effective relationships with a wide range of people across all levels, both internally and externally
  • Experience of budget management and forecasting revenue streams
  • Outstanding interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills, at all levels
  • Ability to work in a fast paced target orientated environment
  • Demonstrable track record of achieving growth and exceeding sales targets
  • Strong planning capability and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skill with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to use Microsoft packages – e.g. Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • A passion for results and genuine desire to achieve, both personally and as part of a successful team
  • To be able to fulfil the travel mobility clause of this role
