Calling all experienced Product managers! We are looking for a successful and driven Product & Purchasing Manager to join a large, well established Tour Operator to focus on their Mediterranean destinations. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven Product Manager with solid negotiation and contracting experience who have extensive knowledge of the Mediterranean to develop new and exciting travel products. If you have a strong Product Management background, this could very well be the chance you have been waiting for!

*To buy and develop appropriate products in line with the product strategy of the company.
*To manage individual supplier relationships.
*To "Champion" their product.
*To ensure that all products are capable of delivering the high levels of quality that the company demands
*To ensure that any promotional material produced accurately and effectively portrays their products to the customer.
*To constantly monitor sales patterns to ensure no opportunities are missed.
*To suggest ways in which products can be more effectively marketed.
*To ensure that all literature (brochures etc.) are thoroughly checked for accuracy and impact.
*To brief other areas of the company on new product developments (e.g. sales team, marketing etc.)
*To assess the commercial/operational viability of new products and to ensure that proposed products do not contradict Health & Safety guidelines.
*To be aware of competitor activity and devise appropriate responses.
*To perform commercial analysis (sales performance, margin, quality scores etc...)
*To proposed PD ideas to the relevant 'Head of Department'.
*To become fully conversant with the new selling system.
*Motivate, train and encourage their teams of Senior Product Executives, Product Executives and Product Coordinators.
*Ensuring that Performance Management reviews are carried out twice per year and that an equal distribution of scores is submitted to HR.
*To manage and control department expenditure within agreed budgets

*Excellent negotiation & influencing skills.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Fluency, both in written and verbal in the relevant language (where applicable).
*High level of numerical and literacy skills.
*Ability to work on own initiative and remain calm under pressure.
*Plus the flexibility to travel, sometimes for extended periods and sometimes at short notice.

The successful candidate will be offered an extremely competitive salary, extensive overseas travel through the Mediterranean, along with the opportunity to work for an established and successful Tour Operator.
