The Business Development Manager will provide new leads from the London catchment area to drive incremental revenue on Flybe services primarily on routes to/from London City Airport in both the corporate and leisure markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive Incremental Sales

  •  Raise the profile of Flybe and London City Airport influencing both the trade and corporate sectors through your existing and newly identified contacts within the catchment area
  •  Develop a sales strategy working closely with the Head of Sales / Sales Managers to influence key decision makers

Manage a pipeline of new sales opportunities

  •  Intelligence gained from external contacts and data interrogation tools
  •  Liaise with London City Airport commercial team to identify corporate and SME leads in the region

Account Manage high volume Online Travel Agents (OTAs) within the region

  •  Make recommendations and introduce commercial actions and targets by account to drive revenue, particularly on services to/from London City Airport
  •  Monitor revenue against targets and take commercial actions accordingly

Manage a portfolio of Travel Management Company (TMC) relationships within the region

  •  Incentivise to drive incremental revenues
  •  Identify corporate opportunities through the TMC relationships

Improve Flybe presence in the region

  •  Represent Flybe at local events and trade exhibitions within the region
  •  Regular visits to Flybe’s HQ to deliver regional views / insights to the business

Monitor competition and local trends

  •  Monitor competitor performance in the region and provide documented intelligence across commercial
  •  Make commercial recommendations based on market insight

Health and Safety

  •  Understand individual operational safety and security responsibilities
  •  Be aware of personal health and safety and the health and safety of others at work

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  •      Demonstrate ability to drive incremental sales and achieving growth targets
  •  Experienced at negotiations as a senior level and demonstrate a high level of influencing
  •  Proven track record of achievement in B2B consultative selling
  •  Experience in building key account relationships

  •  Excellent team working and communication skills
  •  Numerical and analytical, able to analyse and think through the impact of business decisions, considering the risk/return
  •  Strong IT skills – including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  •  Sales training
  •  Presentation skills training
  •  Ability to work under pressure
  •  Strong sense of initiative, assertiveness
  •  Ability to work remotely and also own initiative

Desirable Skills:

  •      Experience in a sales or sales planning function
  •  Strong network of local contacts for the region
  •  Negotiation skills
