Travel Revenue Manager
An exciting sales opportunity where you will be responsible for leading the trading performance for the hotels and exclusive offers categories.
Working with your team (you will lead 2-3 junior team members), the wider business and external partners you will deliver initiatives that enable you to achieve and maximise revenue targets, and will be accountable for the day to day trading by evaluating key metrics.
You will focus on profit optimisation and category management, ensuring we consistently provide and deliver the best travel products and offers to our customers. You will grow your category through effective merchandising across offline and digital marketing channels, as well as delivering best practice within the team to optimise productivity and drive morale.
You will also look for new ways in which to expand the categories by continuously reviewing market trends and operational processes in order to develop the programme accordingly.
It's beneficial if you have experience of operational change as well, which in this age could be the building of an online booking capability or the overall digital transformation of operations.
Ideally you will have a passion for travel with some prior commercial experience in the industry, and enjoy seeing the outcomes of your efforts contribute to the overall success of the business - however experience at an online vouchers/e-commerce enterprise would also be valuable.
Key Responsibilities
*Delivery of annual targets in revenue, traffic and conversion for the hotels and exclusive offers categories
*Evaluate category trading performance metrics, market data and competitor analysis in order to inform what products should be merchandised and promoted through which channels
*Understand the customer, introducing new products and offers which could meet their needs from travel
*Work alongside marketing to deliver a plan of activity aligned to market demand and that will achieve the monthly revenue targets
*Own the day to day relationship with direct and third party suppliers in order to maximise the sale of existing products and secure exclusive offers to promote
*Work alongside the Partnerships team to identify and onboard new suppliers who will help to fulfil the category trading and strategic growth plans
*Work closely with other trading managers to share ideas, best practise and grow knowledge
*Manage a team accountable for sourcing offers, merchandising and trading the products
Required skills and experience
*Good experience in a commercial revenue/yield management or digital trading role
*Very commercially minded with a passion for analysing data
*Experience of operational change
*Good understanding of digital analytics platforms such as Google Analytics and Omniture
*Strong communication and negotiation skills
*Strong people person with ability to build relationships quickly and develop them
*Excellent written and presentation skills
*Ability to work as a team player but also as an individual
*Flexible and adaptable with an ability to re-prioritise at short notice
*Self motivated, being able to work in a fast paced environment working to tight deadlines
*Experience of managing and leading a team of at least three individuals
