Product and Purchasing Manager

£38,000 + Bonus

Kent

My client is a leading travel company who specialise in long haul and cruise holidays.

An opportunity is now available for an experienced Product and Purchasing Manager ideally with knowledge of the Caribbean, USA, Canada, Australia and new Zealand geographical regions.

The Product and Purchasing Manager will be responsible for the full commercial

performance of their region

Candidates must have previous experience with contracting and negotiation, extensive product knowledge and an ability to work well with multiple parts of a business are necessary

There is a maybe a possibility to be homes based for 2/3 days per week.

Product and Purchasing Manager Responsibilities

Develop new, innovative and commercially successful product aligned with the strategy for their existing market and first-time-buyers.

Refine and reengineer existing product to optimise performance.

Be fully aware of the UK travel marketplace, competitor activity and customer insights and accordingly identify and implement commercial opportunities.

Ensure that supplier contracts are negotiated at rates that position the product as highly competitive in the UK market.

Negotiate special offers, overrides, marketing funds and other commercial advantages.

Negotiate tourist board funding for destinations included in your remit.

Work closely with the Pricing & Yield teams to ensure that stock levels of flights/beds are acting appropriately to maximise sales.

Product and Purchasing Manager Experience Required

Previous relevant purchasing experience within a travel environment.

Excellent Product and destination knowledge.

An established network of contacts across relevant DMCs, Tourist Boards and Hoteliers.

Excellent negotiation, persuasion & influencing skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Fluency, both written and verbal in at least one relevant language.

High level of numerical and literacy skills.

Base salary to £38,000
