Job Title: NVQ Assessor & Trainer

Department: Training Approved Centre

Reporting to Apprentice Delivery Manager

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 9.00am – 5.30pm)


Role Summary

As an NVQ Assessor you will be responsible for the administration, preparation and assessment of NVQs including the delivery of training sessions. The assessment of learners will vary across all role levels and areas of the business and cover a spectrum of qualifications. You will be expected to assist with continually monitor and review learners, provide feedback and assist with action planning to promote their learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess learners to relevant  NVQ occupational standards within their workplace, whilst ensuring all company policies and procedures are followed 
  • Support learning and development of all learners in line with specific needs
  • Undertake and be involved in all relevant preparation, administration and assessment associated with supporting NVQ learners
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of induction and  assessment, ensuring that all programmes are developed and enhanced as appropriate
  • Training delivery relevant to areas of the programme and as required 
  • Assist with updating the success of training programmes
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are followed, enhanced and developed to ensure that a timely programme is achieved
  • Be aware of retention and achievement rates and act accordingly where there are areas of development 
  • Willingness to participate in and deliver training appropriate to own development
  • Effectively perform administrative duties
  • Competencies Required
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to negotiate and achieve desired outcomes as agreed with Line Manager
  • Appropriately assertive with a wide range of people
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular PowerPoint Presentation 
  • Analytical and problem solving skills with a can do attitude
  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Strong administration skills with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to gain knowledge and use systems as needed for varying aspects of role
  • Enthusiasm and positive attitude with a commitment to contribute to the growth of the business and to  assist with the development of its employees to maximise job satisfaction and performance

Qualifications / Experience Required

  • An awareness and understanding of NVQ standards is desirable but not essential
  • Management experience is desirable but not essential 
  • Experience of writing, planning and delivering training sessions 


  • To undertake any other duties that may fall into the job criteria
  • To conform with all company policies and procedures including Health and Safety
  • To treat all employees, customers and suppliers with dignity and respect
