We are looking for a vibrant personality to be a key member of the team. As the Sales & Events Executive you will be planning and hosting a number of large scale events. Responsible for all aspects of running a travel members association includes: budget management, organisation of all senior meetings, organisation of a year-round calendar of events including all aspects of planning and execution of the events, promotion of the organisation across the website and social channels, preparation of membership sales material and recruitment of new members, along with all communications to members and event delegates. Business development, of a small portfolio of clients, includes preparing and delivering presentations, training of agents, promotion of clients' brands, business development calls, meetings and reporting
The Role
*Build strong relationships
*Senior level meetings
*Manage events
*Budget and administration
*Develop new distribution for our clients and sourcing new business leads
*Deliver training presentations to travel agency staff , both in small workshops and large presentation situations
*Exhibit at relevant trade and consumer shows
*Attend trade social events on behalf of our clients
Skills Required:
*Experience of events management
*Good financial acumen and budget experience
*Ability to use own initiative to solve problems
*Confident to host events
*Well-developed written and verbal communications skills
*Sound organisational and planning skills , including time management
*Ability to juggle several projects simultaneously
*Able to work alone , and as part of a team environment
*Prepared to travel extensively in the UK and Europe
*Understanding of the UK / Australia / Asia travel trade and tourism distribution systems
*Large events management experience 200+ delegates
*A network of contacts in the UK long haul travel industry
*Social media , data base and website management experience
*Creativity and promotional skills
