Business Development Manager

My client is a bespoke travel and events company. Due to an exciting year of growth they’re now looking for a tenacious sales professional to join the team. This is a key role within the business, and to support their ambitious growth plans they are in search of a motivated individual to actively pursue profitable new corporate business.

Business Development Manager Role:

  • Ensure new business growth targets are met and the customer is fully aware of the wide range of services on offer.
  • Identify and understand client business needs, building relationships with primary influencers in the purchasing decision process.
  • Generate and work on new leads drawing on the existing database of warm contacts, your own professional network and sourcing new contacts
  • Identify and understand client's business needs/challenges
  • Review sales pipeline ensuring there are enough prospects for conversion throughout the year
  • To understand client vision, corporate culture and financial conditions, relationships and growth expectations and suggest product accordingly
  • Using brand guidelines, develop client presentations and attend client meetings
  • Draw together client proposals and RFP documents following brand guidelines
  • Compile regular monthly reporting to the business relating to the new business sales pipeline.
  • Analyse customer and industry data to identify strategic issues and prospects
  • Identify target groups and implement business development plan to ensure success

Business Development Manager Key Skills:

  • Experience of B2B sales within the Travel Industry
  • Formal presentation skills - Tailoring/Delivery
  • The ability to understand and work with organisations at all levels
  • The ability to build and retain customer relationships
  • Excellent level of general computer skills including MS Office Suite
  • Experience of using a CRM, preferably Salesforce.
