Product & Contracting Manager - Tour Operator - West Sussex ££ Competitive salary


This well known Tour Operator in West Sussex is one of the UK's fastest growing Travel Companies, selling a diverse range of holidays throughout the world. They are looking for an experienced Product and Contracting Manager who will be responsible for delivering an excellent product range at the best possible rates in the Indian Ocean, Middle East and Far East as well as managing and maximising supplier partnerships to deliver consistent growth across all markets.

Product & Contracting Manager - responsibilties

  • Primary supplier contact with resorts and tour companies from a commercial perspective
  • Contracting year round hotel & tour rates for all company brands within region
  • Negotiating tactical offers to suit market demands - from short term tacticals to long term early booking promotions
  • Developing and maintaining key preferred partnerships to achieve mutually beneficial goals
  • Seeking out, proposing and supporting delivery of new product, reinforced by market and competitor analysis
  • Creation and delivery of training to the Sales Team
  • Working with the Marketing Team to maximise joint marketing agreements and ensure mutually successful supplier relationships are built & maintained
  • Ensuring the speedy application of all rates and offers to all relevant web sites and marketing functions
  • Monitoring programme performance with the Trading Team to maximise positive and address negative trends in sales
  • Liaise with all levels of a supplier's contacts including Director level
  • Travel abroad extensively for any period of time from 1 night to several weeks
  • Provide regular feedback & insight on market activity, proposing actions for change


Product & Contracting Manager - Essential Skills:

  • Minimum three years experience of Contracting/Buying role essential and with some Product experience desirable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Numerate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical skills, able to review sales reports and market data
  • Good understanding of English language both oral and written
  • Excellent product knowledge of Long Haul destinations
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an outgoing, approachable personality
  • Ability to work in a busy and pressured environment and experience in achieving and exceeding set targets
  • Hardworking and able to learn quickly new procedures and business disciplines
  • Ability to manage busy workload and prioritise effectively
  • Complete self-starter able to work on your own, often away from home and the office
  • Fluency in another language key to programme coverage would be an advantage (eg: Arabic, Spanish, Thai)
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and take Duty Phone responsibilities on a rostered basis.
