Offering inspiring and unique products for all brands and source markets, the Destination Manager for South America will ensure that all elements of ground arrangements are procured with the best possible commercial terms and drive repeat customers and enhance customer recommendations.  This will be done through exceptional delivery in resort, all managed by a highly motivated team with a passion for their region.

You will plan and manage a key part of Tailor made Longhaul destination product range and create and manage content to ensure profitability, passenger volumes and quality targets are maximised, to drive the growth of the businesses in a changing marketplace.

What you will be doing:

- Working with Tailormade Brands to ensure the correct mix of products is available, in the right destinations, at the right price to feed into the overall business strategy

- Developing an in depth knowledge of destinations, exploiting opportunities to grow sales & margins

- Sourcing and contracting destination ground products with market leading rates, special offers, conditions of sale, overrides and financial contributions

- Ensuring appropriate use of directly sourced vs 3rd party bedstock, to meet with quality / H&S requirements

- Managing and developing relationships with contracted hotels, tourist boards & ground handlers

- Managing the on/ offline destination content which supports a multi-channel approach

- Reviewing & managing in resort service ensuring overseas delivery supports business strategy

- Ensuring we are first to market with promo campaigns, reacting swiftly market condition/ sales/ trend changes

- Ensuring all work is conducted to critical path deadlines including effective content management for web and brochure and the delivery of accurate, signed contracts

- Taking a lead role in TETRA loading of contracts/special offers, giving maximum speed to market

- Maintaining clear understanding of the competitive environment and pricing point to feed into pricing policies and revenue management

- Being a key point of contact for Operational areas of the business to assist with resolving issues

- Embracing digital initiatives & utilising skills of online team to ensure a step change in capability & knowledge

- Managing a small team

- Working across all Brands with a high degree of flexibility helping other as necessary

- Offering assistance with training members of the wider team/ other departments where necessary

- Assisting the sales teams to identify & eliminate barriers to sale & assist with increasing conversion

- Understanding & implementing ways of mitigating risk to the business on H&S policies when contracting Hotels, Excursions, Tours & Ground Handlers

What we are looking for:

- At least 3 years’ experience in the long haul market (essential)

- Specialist knowledge of South America

- Product and purchasing experience (essential), ideally in resort  

- A high degree of commercial awareness, highly numerate with strong analytical skills

- An ability to balance commercial needs of the business with customer feedback and customer service

- An ability to keep things simple, plus a proven track record of working with accommodation suppliers to drive volume and profit

- A flexible approach with an ability to take up new challenges and embrace change

- Strong organisational and negotiation skills

- A highly driven attitude, motivated by stretching targets

- An ability to travel overseas as and when required by the business

- Experience of team management

- Good knowledge of all relevant systems e.g.: Travelink, MCS, MS Office

- Flexibility in working hours (including weekends) at peak times
