Account Manager, International Sales
Overall Purpose of Role:
Primarily office based role with requirement to also be out of the office attending face to face meetings and events with accounts. Accountable for all aspects of account management for a defined portfolio of agents, to increase booking productivity and maximize all business opportunities within those agencies. To define strategies to ensure international growth plans for Carnival Cruise Line are met, whilst maintaining senior relationships with strategic agent partners and taking direction from the Head of International Sales.
Leading the commercial approach in maintaining and growing strategic relationships, using own initiative when making decisions and in negotiations based upon defined Carnival Cruise Line strategies and guidelines.
Working autonomously in order to support key business objectives with a defined portfolio of travel agents.
Main Activities and Responsibilities
Responsible for autonomously managing a defined portfolio of accounts where you will be expected to define the business strategy for agents within said portfolio. Overall accountability for portfolios performance with the objective of growing sales and productivity in all key areas as agreed with Head of International Sales.
Responsible for the formulation of individual annual business plans for a defined portfolio of travel agent partners to support the delivery of the wider partnerships goals as defined by the Head of International Sales
Creation and implementation of fully rounded annual co-operative marketing and annual activity plans to support the delivery of commercial priorities throughout the year. Responsible for tracking CPA on spend, making business justified decisions regarding future spend and strategy.
Develop relationships with owners and directors of strategic accounts.
Generate background info, fully brief senior management and take responsibility for Commercial negotiations with accounts within portfolio in conjunction with the Head of International Sales, conducted via a face to face and remote contact basis.
Carry out agency regular visits and ensure a full training plan is in place for the defined agencies.
Articulation of sales target as defined by Head of International Sales to travel agent partner portfolio and work with them to develop and monitor tactical sales plans to meet targets, and be responsible for the delivery of these plans.
Responsible for developing and monitoring the trading environment to include competitor activity and providing regular updates to Head of International Sales.
Work with the US commercial team and Head of International Sales to ensure our key priorities are being addressed, and that an appropriate plan of action is in place with our trade partners.
Present information to a variety of audiences including senior executives and existing clients.
Work with wider team to deliver overall business requirements for Carnival Cruise Line with the ability to work as a cohesive unit with colleagues of all levels.
Liaise with other areas of the business internally to ensure consistent approach to sales activity e.g. trading, commercial, marketing and customer services.
Accountable for all expenses and to control/manage personal overhead and promotional budget costs.
Liaison and partnership with commercial, marketing, reservations, systems, finance and IT teams as required by the business.
Adheres to Corporate Policies and Procedures, including Code of Conduct, Audit
Procedures and any control related responsibility for financial data entered, stored, or reported via business systems within employees control (list not exhaustive).
To undertake ad hoc duties as required.
Encourages adherence to Carnival Cruise Line Core Values and develops and leads activities to reinforce the relationship of the Core Values to divisional responsibilities, processes and practices.
Monitors interdepartmental working relationships and ensures that recognition is given for high performance across the team
