This successful and fast growing medium sized luxury travel company is seeking an experienced travel industry accounts/finance manager to join them and shape their expanding finance team.

About the Role
You will head up the accounting team and play a key role ensuring the profitable growth of the company, with a turnover of GBP25M plus.

Role Responsibilities

⦁Managing a growing team of three handling all finance operations for the business
⦁Working directly with Senior management to help the business grow in a profitable way
⦁Managing the accounts audit process with our external auditors
⦁Leading the creation and implementation of new systems/procedures within the
⦁Finance department to optimise efficiency and accuracy
⦁Formulating, creating and analysing management accounts
⦁Creating forecasting reports, budgeting and cost analysis
⦁Proactively collaborating with other departments and suppliers to ensure timely payments
⦁Delivering regular feedback and building open communication within the team and externally to other departments
⦁Fostering a culture of collaboration, learning and best practices

As Head Accountant/Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for making sure the below are achieved by your team, although we will expect that you will take on some of these duties directly.
⦁Managing bank reconciliations, sales and purchase ledgers
⦁Staying on top of multiple bank accounts, in multiple currencies, and making international payments
⦁Managing substantial deferred income and deferred costs
⦁Double entry bookkeeping in line with accurate cutoff procedures
⦁Managing accounts for our 3 satellite offices
⦁Suggesting more efficient working methods
⦁Collating payroll data for bureau

⦁ACCA or CIMA qualified
⦁Strong experience in a finance management position (2-3 year minimum)
⦁Strong experience in managing a team (2-3 minimum)
⦁Working in the travel industry for a travel agent or tour operator
⦁Comfortable using Xero accounting package
⦁Knowledge of Travel Agents Margin Scheme for VAT would be advantageous

⦁Exceptional level of accounting ability all around, very comfortable with all of the above
⦁Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills; able to interact and collaborate with a wide range of people both in and outside of Accounts
⦁Dedicated to driving the business forward by inspiring others and bringing fresh new ideas to the table, and by embracing and championing change
⦁Good spreadsheet skills to manually manage accounts
⦁Fastidious with excellent attention to detail and determined to always be on top of things, particularly during busy periods (eg. Auditing/payroll periods), while staying
⦁calm under pressure
⦁Capable of growing along with this fast expanding business
