Due to rapid growth within this very successful Swindon based tour operator I am currently recruiting for an Aviation Purchasing Manager, this is a brand new and very exciting new position which will offer the chosen candidate a long and prosperous career. Playing a key role in the business you will be the key buyer for the aviation across all of the global offices, you will define preferred airline partners, key destinations and negotiate exclusive rates and flexible terms and conditions.

THE JOB:
*Support and align to the Product strategy and define preferred airline partners that fit the company global growth strategy.
*Negotiate outside range, group and tactical cruise fares in all booking classes on an exclusive basis.
*Agree flexible ticketing and group terms and conditions globally
*Ensure aviation processes are in place to maximise sales and ensure accuracy of loaded fares.
*Ensure processes are in place to ensure no financial risk to the business of fare buying, ensuring that all deposit, final balances are payed within the required deadline and cancel any unwanted seats and ensure processes are in place to rebook.
*Negotiate commercial overrides, marketing funds & incentives where required as part of aviation strategy agreed.
*Manage the Aviation team ensuring that all team KPI targets are achieved.
*Work closely with the concierge team to purchase fares in order to maximise upgrade opportunities.
*Provide sales guidance on airlines and routes to optimise sales.
*Maximise GDS and selling system technology to enable best fare purchasing and best fare searches.
*Ensure the packages are up to date with best available flight prices so that Sales team can process bookings with price accuracy. Support with airline training when required.


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
*Proven knowledge of the airline industry, fares & opportunities to maximise airline relationships
*Capable to use multiple date sources to create airline rate forecasts and best fare opportunities
*A good understanding of commercial risk and ability to identify improvements
*Good communications skills & organization.
*Good knowledge of airlines & various GDS preferable.
*Strong knowledge of fare constructions
*Passion for delivering profitable deals and differentiated product
*Knowledge of Microsoft office applications

THE PACKAGE:
The successful candidate will be rewarded with a fantastic basic salary within the region of £40000 which is negotiable for the right candidate, dependent on experience plus there are some fantastic company benefits which include company pension scheme and medical benefits.
