Initially an 8 to 12 month contract to cover Maternity leave, with the potential to be made a permanent role.  We are seeking someone to join our fun and friendly team in Southampton.  We offer an exciting and varied role with competitive salary, generous bonus, free car parking and other great benefits.

Purpose:

To offer exceptional customer service you will be responsible for making cruise bookings. To convert and resolve enquiries from both Travel Agents and Direct Guests and to ensure that all telephone and email enquiries are dealt with in a professional and timely manner

Internal Departments – Sales & Marketing Teams, Guest Relations, Miami office, Ships, Special Services

Key Responsibilities:

Answer calls / emails within required time

Handle a large volume of incoming calls

Check cruise and air availability

Ensure correct pricing and promotions are valid

To provide each enquirer with all up to date and accurate information

Inform guests when shore excursions and dining arrangements can be booked

Chase options on a daily basis with the goal of converting to firm basis

Follow up web leads

Ensure all bookings are documented

Book air arrangements

Ability to resolve calls at first resolution

Collect guests date during calls

Provide callers with Insurance Referrals

Communication with US Office – Inventory / Guest Relations / US Ops & Onboard Cruise Consultants

Other Ad-Hoc Duties:

Assist Sales Department with Southampton ship visits

Attend trade and consumer events – various UK locations (midweek & weekend – usually 1 to 2 per year)

Assist Marketing with brochure and advertisement proofing

Assist with other departments as and when requested

Flexibility to work weekend shifts, including hours outside regular business hours should the need arise

Job Specific Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours Required:

Strong product and destination knowledge

Computer Literate - Working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Excel and Word

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrates resilience and flexibility to business needs

Ability to work well as part of a team

Honest and consistent

Well presented

Attention to detail and organisational skills

Experience and Education:

Call Centre or Travel Agent experience preferred

Ideally at least 2-3 years' Travel Experience

Second Language preferable but not essential (French or German)
