Job Role Summary

As a Trading & Pricing Analyst, you will meet an agreed revenue per passenger, bed utilisation and margin targets for the business. You’ll control brochure pricing, tactical pricing and stock availability for Neilson Active Holidays ensuring that revenue, margin and stock utilisation targets are met.

This will be achieved through yield analysis in conjunction with price, inventory and offer control. You will ensure a clear line of communication/coordination across the business to implement/monitor all agreed trading and commercial actions in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Production of market relevant and commercially viable brochure prices delivered to optimum market and business process timing
  • Management of sales, price and discount levels for assigned gateways across Neilson products through market knowledge, reactive pricing and with the assistance of commercial tools
  • Manage programme stock levels (seats and beds), maintain awareness of supplier stop sales and provide relevant information when required to overseas and product and purchasing teams
  • Maximise revenue by optimizing revenue and occupancy by room
  • Responsible for achieving target passenger, margin, revenue, flight load factor, product mix, unit occupancy and committed stock recovery for assigned gateways
  • Regular contact with other UK departments including Aviation, Product & Purchasing, Business Systems, Customer Services and Reservations to ensure operational efficiency
  • Provision of support and regular sales availability information to the marketing team, suppliers, overseas teams and Neilson sales teams. Creation of campaigns containing commercially relevant package and auxiliary stock to be promoted
  • Provide appropriate actions to purchasers/overseas managers and hotel agencies to secure reduced releases, extra bed stock and supplier rate reductions subject to sales and bed stock situation.   Liaise with overseas offices to ensure appropriate stock levels through purchasing of Late beds, reduced rates and releases
  • Management of revenue management tools to maintain a high level of effectiveness
  • Good scope for improving product profitability and procedures and be innovative in implementing more efficient processes to benefit the business
  • Able to develop commercial knowledge and gain a wide understanding of Tour Operations
  • Resort visits/Educational trips to gain further knowledge of product

KPI:  Passenger volume, average selling value, revenue, margin, capacity utilisation

  • Confident using Word

  • PowerPoint, Outlook or similar e-mail package
  • Experience of Tour Operating and Revenue Management systems
  • Advanced Excel
  • Knowledge of the active sports market
  • Knowledge of @com and BPS

EXPERIENCE & TRACK RECORD

Essential

  • Experience of working in travel, with time spent in commercial/tactical/yield department of a tour operator

Desirable

  • Experience working in travel in Retail/Overseas areas

QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING, PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS & ACCREDITATIONS

Essential

  • Minimum Secondary level education (including Math’s/English GCSE) or equivalent

Desirable

  • Degree
