My client are a specialist long haul tour operator based in the Gatwick area of West Sussex and they are currently on the lookout for a Product & Commercial Manager to manage their South America product. The successful candidate will ensure that all elements of ground arrangements are procured with the best possible commercial terms and drive repeat customers and enhance customer recommendations. This will be done through exceptional delivery in resort, all managed by a highly motivated team with a passion for their region.

You will plan and manage a key part of Tailor made Long haul destination product range and create and manage content to ensure profitability, passenger volumes and quality targets are maximised, to drive the growth of the businesses in a changing marketplace.

* Working with Tailor made Brands to ensure the correct mix of products is available, in the right destinations, at the right price to feed into the overall business strategy
* Developing an in depth knowledge of destinations, exploiting opportunities to grow sales & margins
* Sourcing and contracting destination ground products with market leading rates, special offers, conditions of sale, overrides and financial contributions
* Ensuring appropriate use of directly sourced vs 3rd party bedbanks, to meet with quality / H&S requirements
* Managing and developing relationships with contracted hotels, tourist boards & ground handlers
* Managing the on/ offline destination content which supports a multi-channel approach
* Reviewing & managing in resort service ensuring overseas delivery supports business strategy
* Ensuring we are first to market with promo campaigns, reacting swiftly market condition/ sales/ trend changes

* The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' experience in the long haul market (essential)
* Specialist knowledge of South America
* A high degree of commercial awareness, highly numerate with strong analytical skills
* An ability to balance commercial needs of the business with customer feedback and customer service
* An ability to keep things simple, plus a proven track record of working with accommodation suppliers to drive volume and profit
* A flexible approach with an ability to take up new challenges and embrace change
* Strong organisational and negotiation skills
* A highly driven attitude, motivated by stretching targets
* An ability to travel overseas as and when required by the business
* Experience of team management
* Good knowledge of all relevant systems e.g.: Travelink, MCS, MS Office
* Flexibility in working hours (including weekends) at peak times
