Flight and Operations Manager
Working for this growing, specialist leisure travel company, this key role is at the heart of the Commercial Operation, taking ownership of the Air Product and Holiday Operations and being a key part of the management team to deliver passenger and revenue targets. You will lead the strategy and delivery of the flight product, acquiring flight seats for the specialist groups and package holidays, managing the relationships with the Airlines, Aggregators and GDS Partners. You will also lead the Travel Team to ensure operational effectiveness and managing any pre/post operational travel changes.
With a strong understanding of airlines/air product, you will negotiate with airlines (and rail operators) to secure access at competitive rates, with maximum flexibility and minimal risk, to enable successful operation and growth of the packaged holiday product. Managing all flight costs, engaging with the trading process to achieve sales, revenue and margin targets.
A pro-active role, working collaboratively across all departments to solve situations where planned holiday operations are impacted, to minimise disruption and cost whilst ensuring customer satisfaction, a key part of the crisis management team. With a strong commercial focus, you will analyse performance, manage the yield of any flight commitment and lead on any systems developments needed for Flights and Operations.
Managing a team of 6, you will have strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of flight contracts, with at least 5 years in an Air Product/Aviation focused role and a full understanding of an operational environment. Fully versed in current airline strategies, able to lead the business through change and implementation of key activities including NDC, GDS developments and key Airline partnerships.
An innovative, commercial and strategic thinker, confident decision maker with strong numeracy and literacy skills, able to work with variety of data.
