Senior reporter – Travel Weekly
Are you an experienced newsgathering journalist looking to take the next step in your career in one of the most exciting business sectors?
Market-leading trade title Travel Weekly is looking for a senior reporter to join its award-winning team with a rare opportunity to progress into the role of deputy news editor.
Our readers are primarily travel agents but we also write for tour operators, airlines, tourist boards and the directors of FTSE 100 companies.
This is not a travel writing position but a news reporting role. You will attend industry events and overseas conferences, and go on press trips, but will be mostly office-based.
This is the perfect role for a proactive, hardworking, qualified journalist with at least two years’ experience.
We’re looking for someone who can write sharp, accurate copy under tight deadlines, with a great eye for detail and strong news sense.
You will be highly organised and able to manage multiple demands, whether that’s from the editor, news team or subs’ desk, and react to breaking news.
In addition to sourcing and covering stories from across the sector, there will be an opportunity to progress and deputise for the news editor which will be based on performance.
If successful, in this role you will help edit copy, proofread pages and forward plan on a daily basis, and stand in for the news editor in their absence.
As well as the weekly magazine, Travel Weekly produces agenda-setting email alerts, website updates and a range of supplements. Travel Weekly Group is based in Victoria, London. It is part of Jacobs Media Group.
