Assistant Commercial Manager

Central London

£: up to £40K depending on experience + Bonus + Benefits

My client is a leading niche luxury tour operator based in Central London.

They are now seeking an Assistant Commercial Manager to effectively yield manage the company’s product portfolio to maximise sales.

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Commercial Manager role will have proven experience in a commercial role within the travel industry and be looking to take the next step in their career, with a desire to effectively manage the day to day running of the company’s multi-million product portfolio.

They will have the ability to hit the ground running, with a pro-active attitude and ability to prioritize multiple tasks whilst meeting tight deadlines.

Assistant Commercial Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

Producing and analysing the availability, turnover and margin for all product

Making decisions on upcoming promotions

Proactively running waitlists for sales to contact and fill capacity, as well as friends and family offers to fill last minute space

Handling reservation department queries, utilizing the costing and figure sheets to make decisions on day to day queries and responding in a timely manner

Creating and signing off costing sheets, ensuring the product is competitive in the marketplace where necessary and reviewing historical performance.

Liaising with the land and operations departments to ensure the costing sheet contains accurate and up to date supplier pricing

Producing the month end sales and turnover reports

Attending and presenting findings from figure analysis and promotional success/failure at bi-weekly commercial meetings

Assisting with contract negotiations when chartering in product, reducing financial risk and increasing margins wherever possible

Assistant Commercial Manager Key Skills and Experience Required:

Extensive commercial experience within a travel environment

Strong organisational skills

Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines

Excellent numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data

Excel skills essential, Word and PowerPoint preferable.

Assistant Commercial Manager Salary and Benefits Package:

Base Salary circa £40,000 per annum based on experience

Profit and performance related bonus paid annually

09.00-17.30 hours Monday to Friday.
