Head of Product & Commercial
A senior and diverse role for a highly regarded, specialist brand, this role is the heart of the business and a key part of the Leadership Team focused on driving the growth of the business in a growing sector of the holiday market.
Responsible for managing the product cycle from the ideas stage, through all contracting and set-up, to pricing and then on to ensuring trading results meet expectations. A team of Product Managers report into the role, each managing a range of holidays. This role will lead that team in ensuring the product range meets customer demands and is competitive in the market, and ensures that trading results are in line with our plans.
This role will need to inspire new product development, and as a part of the management team, will work collaboratively with other managers to drive volume growth, improving quality and enhancing margins.
A strong commercial focus is required with experience in product planning, purchasing and pricing, developing the pricing strategy to optimise volume and margin. Leading the focus on Trading, generating process and strategies to drive sales in varying market conditions, assessing performance to deliver results in line with the plan.
You will need at least 5 years senior product and commercial experience within the Travel Industry and a knowledge of specialist product/small group touring would be beneficial. Full understanding and demonstration of Product Contracting, Pricing, Trading and Purchasing with strong people skills. An innovative and creative thinker, passionate about the customer and able to develop new product initiatives, communicating and influencing through the business to drive change. Reporting directly into the MD who has a strong vision for growth and the highest level of delivery, this role offers the opportunity to drive success and be part of the future vision of a highly regarded product.
