A German speaking Travel Consultant is required by one of Ireland’s market leading and best-known Incoming Tours operators. As the German speaking Travel Consultant, you will be responsible for ensuring clients’ needs are met by offering new and existing programmes as well as developing the companies individual travel program. The candidate is expected to be knowledgeable in the Irish product and have experience in business development and sales.

As German Travel Consultant you will:

  • Proactively approach existing and potential clients to develop business for Ireland
  • Be responsible for the development of the Company’s individual travel programme and the handling of associated product requirements
  • Understand client’s needs and deadlines and offering current and new programmes to fulfil client needs
  • Ensure that clients have the necessary material to present new and existing programs whether in brochure or online format
  • Create and write client itineraries and their associated costing
  • Dealing with overseas Tour Operator partners on bookings and also where appropriate their clients when on holiday in Ireland
  • Prepare client travel documentation and ensure the smooth operation of the FIT booking for the duration of the clients travels in Ireland
  • Be responsible for general office duties such as reservations confirmations, processing bookings and preparing and invoices through Tourplan
  • Supervise trainees assigned to the department
  • Operate the departments 24 hr after-hours assistance phone number on a rotational basis, shared with other department colleagues

The German Travel Consultant is:

  • Fluent in German with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledgeable in the Irish Tourist product and has relevant tourism experience
  • Experienced in business development and Sales
  • Able to work under pressure while adhering to strict deadlines
  • A team player that thrives in a busy work environment
  • Excellent customer service and administration skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and tour operating software
