A multiple award-winning travel client is looking for a passionate and experienced Web Development Manager in Maidstone to grow their agile team. You will be reporting to the IT Director and work closely with the wider business. As Web Development Manager you will be an integral link between the business and technology. As such you will be required to champion IT as a value-add for the strategic goals of the business

*You will need to have a degree in a related technical field or project management discipline or a minimum of 8 years proven industry experience. It is also highly desirable that you have experience in the following:
Agile Methods: Lean/JIT/Kanban, Scrum; Prince2

Essential skills required in this role:

*You must have Development experience as well as working knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML and JSON
*A strong understanding of the development lifecycle for Agile and Waterfall methods and the know how to apply these methods when working on projects
*Minimum of 2 years management/leadership experience and Lean/agile methods development teams experience
*You should have a broad knowledge of data flow, interactions of systems and capabilities and limitations of systems software and computer hardware. It is essential that you can recognise problems, develop recommendations and implement solutions within this role. You will also be required to interpret complex technical publications and documentation
*It is essential that you have dealt with Lean, Scrum or other agile project management disciplines

Skills that would benefit your application

*Exposure to teams developing APIs including SOAP and RESTful.
*Practical knowledge of HTML, CSS and debugging
*Experience with JIRA including workflow administration.
*Experience with CI/CD environments, source control (SVN, GIT)
*Experience with Java, ColdFusion 7+
*SQL (Including T-SQL)

Day to day within this role:

As Web Development Manager you will be required to work with the business to schedule and coordinate development projects. You will need to provide status updates and communications with key stakeholders and project managers and manage resource planning and technical fit selection of team members for projects. You will be facilitating the collaboration between business analysts and members of the company to analyse new requirements and manage a team of software developers. All whilst working with Lead Developers to develop, implement and maintain best practice software development Lifecyle processes and procedures. You will manage technical signoff of scope and functional requirements entering the development team and track and manage timescales for development in collaboration with technical teams. It is essential that you keep up to date with new technologies and recommend their use if beneficial to the business.

As Web Development Manager you will be ensuring that developers follow the development process whilst championing all stages of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, writing, testing, debugging and delivery. You will also perform internal reviews to evaluate new or enhanced software products and processes as required. You will ensure that all procedure manuals and systems documentation is kept up to date and maintain and support the participation of peer code reviews by providing comments and suggestions. You will support root cause analysis on application issues and outline corrective action for any problems found. You will provide estimates for new development tasks and give your opinion on technology choices, offer suggestions and improve processes. You will also participate in daily stand up meetings, capturing and communicating regular updates on progress and provide regular feedback and a weekly report to the IT Director via meetings, status updates and discussions. You will also communicate regular status updates to stakeholders to keep them informed of project plans and progress.
