Are you a Group Travel Consultant in Leicestershire who is ready to progress in Business Travel and be with a successful Corporate Travel Company? Are you an experienced travel consultant looking to move into Business Travel? Do you want to be rewarded as a Group Travel Consultant? A leading independent business travel company in Leicestershire need an experienced Group Travel Consultant with GDS skills to provide efficient servicing of their Group Travel Reservations. This company have gone from strength to strength and built business on their high customer service standards. The role is to provide efficient servicing of overseas venue finding, event planning and group travel requirements on behalf of their clients, in accordance with the client's policy and minimum service level agreement. To provide a service that will be perceived as excellent.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
* Customer service: to communicate cheerfully with clients and convey a positive attitude, both by phone, and, where required, face to face meetings.
* Venue Finding and airline route investigation worldwide: to advise on destination and venue suitability in relation to client specification/policy, and provide proactive advice on recommended alternatives
* Negotiate rates with suppliers, using Destination Management Companies where necessary, to the advantage of the client
* To respond to enquiries in accordance with current minimum service standards
* To provide clients with accurate Proposal/Confirmation documentation in accordance with client policy and current procedures
* To ensure valid supplier contracts are signed by the client
* To record all enquiry/confirmed booking details and ensure all booking files are maintained accurately in accordance with current procedures and invoicing requirements
* Work proactively to confirm pending enquiries in order to maximise profitability
* To communicate with other departments as required in relation to the enquiry/confirmed booking
* To provide ongoing liaison with suppliers as required in relation to the booking until event invoicing is completed
* Undertake site inspections or occasional provision of on-site assistance if required/agreed with key clients.
* To maintain product knowledge/develop expertise through site visits and educationals as appropriate and maintain supportive literature/material on destinations and venues
* Escalating all service or supplier complaints to Section Manager in accordance with current procedure

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Previously worked for a minimum of 2 years in an agency environment, providing overseas conference planning/venue sourcing services
* Business Travel and/or group travel reservations knowledge required
* Galileo focalpoint preferred, other CRS knowledge considered
* Positive, helpful attitude reflected in all telephone and personal communication, engendering confidence in the service
* Enjoy working with people/understanding of what makes 'good customer service'
* Team player - appreciation of shared goals and objectives
* Able to prioritise and work well under pressure - react well in a fast, frantic environment
* Sound knowledge of UK/World geography
* PC literate; competent in Windows97/Word/Excel
* Numerate, with knowledge of basic principles of negotiation

THE PACKAGE:
Salary is in the region of £17,000-£19,000 dependent on experience and comes with additional company benefits that are some of the best in the industry and also excellent long term career prospects!
