Accommodation Product Manager- West Sussex ££ Competitive

This is an exciting opportunity to work for this well known Touring Tour Operator.

Background to role:
Reporting to the Senior Accommodation Product Manager within the Commercial team, you will own the performance of the companies UK Accommodation Site network (touring caravan parks), and be responsible for developing and enhancing the product proposition. Your role exists to ensure their sites are the most appealing to customers, commercially well positioned and continuously improving. You must be confident in analysing and interpreting numerical performance data as well as gathering and analysing softer observational data such as competitor site features, benefits and locations. You will be the expert in your product and passionate about improving performance and customer experience. You will be expected to initiate change and have the project management experience required to deliver it. Your role will be supported by a Commercial Analyst, and will support the Revenue Management and Pricing teams

Accommodation Product Manager - Main Purpose of Job:

  • To own the performance of the companies Accommodation Sites and responsible for working with internal stakeholders (Operations, Revenue and Pricing teams, and Marketing) to ensure site's products are appealing to customers, commercially well positioned and continuously improving.
  • Regular analysis of key performance indicators (eg revenue and occupancy) in order to feed your recommendations for making product improvements.
  • Identify and deliver new physical and experiential product enhancements across the UK Sites network.
  • Project manage the delivery of new product developments to ensure successful delivery to market, in the form of written product briefs, stakeholder management, training and presentations.

  • Accommodation Product Manager - Additional responsibilities

  • Using financial and non-numerical data for constructing or contributing to business cases.
  • Monitor competitors and market trends to identify new product opportunities. Fully understand the products of competitors, how they are priced and perceived relative to the Club's equivalent, with the intention of striving to match or beat alternatives.
  • Evaluating the appropriateness of physical site locations, identifying gaps and opportunities for investment, divestment, and development.
  • Ensure the company benefits from the most appropriate mix of owned and operated UK Club Sites and Affiliated Sites.
  • Determining the needs and desires of the customer by specifying the research required to obtain relevant market intelligence for developing the product.
  • An influencer in driving strategic and tactical marketing campaigns directly supporting UK touring and non-touring product. Influence, improve and sign off marketing collateral as required (online and print).
  • Support customer facing teams by providing responses to queries as required, both verbally and written.

  • Accommodation Product Manager - Key Skills & Experience:

  • Numerate: this role requires a good level of analytical capability involving gathering and interpreting numerical data, to identify performance challenges and opportunities.
  • Analytical: in addition to having the confidence and ability to analyse and interpret numerical data, the successful candidate will be required to analyse 'softer' observational data including competitor products, new accommodation types, market trends, customer information etc.
  • Literate: the successful candidate will be able to evidence experience of preparing and producing high-quality written reports with evidence-based decision making.
  • A strong and articulate communicator who is able to deliver messages and present effectively to a variety of stakeholders at different levels of seniority and knowledge.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Previous experience within an hotel /hospitality / travel/leisure organisation - must demonstrate prior experience and an understanding of what it takes to deliver outstanding product performance.
  • Proactive 'can do' attitude, inspiring and inquisitive, with the ability to lead, persuade and influence others to drive forward results.
  • Objective decision making.
  • Strong organisational skills whilst working to tight deadlines. Able to take personal ownership to resolve issues.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a small team and work across functions and departments.
  • Must be available to travel UK wide when necessary as some overnight trips will be required.

  • Accommodation Product Manager - Technical Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years product management experience in a similar industry.
    • Experienced with Microsoft Office suite of applications (Google Suite would also be advantageous but not a fundamental requirement)
    • Intermediate Excel skills will need to be demonstrated (and tested during the interview process).
    • Experience of working with Tableau reporting tool, or similar Business Intelligence tools is advantageous.
    • Experience of working with financial budgets and profit and loss accounts.
    • Experience of compiling written reports with qualitative and quantitative data input to justify recommendations.
    • Educated to A-level or Degree level.
