To succeed as a Technical Lead with us you’ll need a combination of technical experience within the business travel sector, including GDS knowledge of one or more of Galileo, Sabre or Amadeus, plus solid travel account management skills.

At Travel and Transport Statesman, we’re passionate about business travel. Our success is built on expert personal service and technical know-how. Come and be part of one of the UK’s biggest success stories in the world of business travel, event management and associated services. Thanks to hiring close-knit teams of experienced, knowledgeable, dedicated people like you, Travel and Transport Statesman has tripled in size in recent years and we’re now poised for further, exciting growth. If you want to think even bigger, we’re also part of Travel and Transport Inc., one of the world’s largest corporate travel agents, which was voted as one of the Best Midsize Employers 2018 by Forbes. There’s no limit to how far you could go.

The Role:

As Technical Lead you will be the subject matter expert for implementation of Travel and Transport proprietary global technology in the UK market.  As such you will build, configure or gather information needed to implement Travel and Transport technology.  It is crucial that you understand that technology requirements differ per country and find ways to make global technology work in local environments. This will see you:

  • Communicate professionally with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Manage technology deliverables for client implementation of proprietary Travel and Transport technology
  • Assist with building, configuring and gathering information for the technology products
  • Identify risks in proprietary and vendor supported applications and implement recommended resolutions.

The Person:

Right now, we’re offering a key role with massive scope and career potential to the right individual. If you are that person you’ll be able to confidently describe how and where you have previously worked with travel technology, e.g. configured online booking tools, created point of sale scripts, worked with mid-office QC systems or built MI reports. And not just in a project management capacity but as a hands-on technical specialist. The role is based in London but reports directly to our US HQ.

To be considered you’ll need to possess a relevant degree or equivalent work experience, as well as significant travel industry expertise spanning travel technology and interacting with customers in project based work. You’ll also need significant GDS knowledge, with Galileo experience being essential, while Sabre or Amadeus knowledge is preferred.

In return, you can expect to work sensible (or even, potentially, flexible) hours, Monday-Friday, in a convenient Central London location. Benefits include generous holiday allowance and fantastic industry discounts, plus profit sharing plan, contributory pension plan, reduced corporate gym membership and health cover.

You’re also assured of full training and development opportunities, together with excellent career progression prospects. Travel and Transport Statesman is growing fast but at heart we’re all about lasting relationships and personal reputations. Put in a good performance and it will be recognised – and rewarded.
