On behalf of my client I am on the lookout for the crème de la crème of Business Development Managers for this niche tour operator based in the South East of England, this role requires an experienced BDM to develop and maintain relationships with travel agents and select tour operators through regular face to face visits in the South East of England. Your main priority will be to maximise and increase sales revenue whist also offering support to the National Sales Manager in servicing key accounts. If you are currently a BDM who is working within the travel industry and are looking to progress with an extremely sought-after company, this may just be the perfect role for you!

*First and foremost, maximise and increase sales revenue in your territory
*Implement sales strategy for your region
*Achieve pre-determined sales targets for your territory
*Develop and maintain relationships with travel agents and select tour operators through regular face-to-face visits
*Assist National Sales Manager, Sales, Marketing & Digital Director in identifying any new business development channels in your region and supporting key accounts.
*Manage your pre-allocated sales & marketing budget to maximise the return on investment for those agencies for which you are accountable
*Participate in regular Sales Team telephone calls & attend quarterly sales meetings
*Exchange ideas with the other Business Development Mangers and National Sales Manager regarding effective sales promotions for Marketing Team to communicate
*Work closely with Agency Support / Commercial to ensure agent data is maintained accurately at central level
*Regularly suggest innovative and effective ways of communicating and engaging with the travel trade
*Provide content for Marketing Team to use on social media
*Weekly reporting to National Sales Manager on key accounts, competitor information, general trading conditions, ideas, challenges and triumphs
*Attend cruise industry events as necessary to help raise the company profile
*Host familiarisation trips overseas & client/travel agent functions
*Attend trade and consumer shows and cruise industry events as necessary
*Identify personal development requirements and propose how they can be achieved
*Ensure your Manager is aware of your personal goals and assists you in achieving them

You will have a proven track record of achieving sales targets within a field based, business development role within the travel industry. Ultimately the experience that is required for this role is;
*Passion for adventure travel & excellent knowledge of the UK travel industry
*Proven working experience as a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager or relevant role with travel agents
*Commercially minded, with proven ability to deliver against set targets
*Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly build rapport and communicate effectively at all levels
*Results driven, team player who can work independently
*Fantastic knowledge of worldwide cruise destinations
*Excellent communication and negotiation skills
*Exceptional time management and planning skills
*Confidence in presentations and training customers in product features and benefits
*Strong analytical and reporting skills, familiarity with SQL reporting
*Competent using MS tools - PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook
*Active on social media platforms

The successful candidate for this role can expect a fantastic basic salary which is in the region of up to £37000.00 (dependent on experience) you will also be entitled to a great company bonus and also a company car!
