24hr Commercial Aviation Manager - Surrey - up to £43k plus bonus

Normal Hours: 4 on/4 off rotating monthly pattern including nights. 12 hour shifts. As supervisor for the 24 hour team this role will be required to demonstrate flexibility to provide cover for the team during holidays, sickness, etc.

This leading Aviation company serves clients across the globe, in all aspects of aircraft charter, leasing, flight management, aircraft seat sales and refurbishment. From scheduled fleet support and emergency response, to executive and group travel, they provide comprehensive solutions through their global resources, delivering flight operations of the highest standard on behalf of their clients and airline partners. Their 24 hour team works as the key central point that supports their Commercial teams and the organisation in providing value add customer service and sales operations support 24/7, 365 days a year. The H24 team is also the lynchpin that supports their Short Term ACMI service and OOH's flight services.

24hr Commercial Aviation Manager - Purpose of the Job:
This role has three primary functions:

  • Developing and delivering the commercial planning and development of the Short Term ACMI service and as part of this working in a senior broking role to proactively manage the various short term ACMI enquiries, fixtures and business development with airlines together with the 24 hour team
  • Work with the Full Charter team to develop and deliver the AOG service through business development and OOH support for the service
  • Provide day to day management and leadership of the 24 hour team ensuring smooth operations and support to the ACMI and Charter teams to provide and exceed customer expectations

  • 24hr Commercial Aviation Manager - Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement the commercial direction of the ACMI ST product/service
  • Review annual ACMI targets and broker individual targets together with Director of Leasing
  • Create and maintain the short term ACMI business development plan, co-ordinating research of new potential airline customers and suppliers by telephone, e-marketing and in person
  • Working closely with Charter Business Development and Charter team, develop a Business Development plan targeting new business in the AOG sector. Deliver on growth targets for client numbers and gross profit and where needed attend meetings and networking events to support this growth.
  • Acting as a senior broker on ACMI Short Term enquiries working together with the 24 hour team to maintain high levels of broking activities to find the best solution to meet client's needs and managing client and supplier airline relationships.
  • Management and leadership of the 24 hour team
  • Planning and management of H24 team rosters.
  • Provide cover for the H24 team during times of absence or critical service issues
  • Managing performance through setting goals and carrying out reviews
  • Training and recruitment of team members
  • Oversee the operational management of the corporate shuttle contracts, including coordination of all customer requirements for existing shuttle flights including additional service or change requests.
  • Addressing immediate issues when on duty, and ensuring escalation to the Charter team as required
  • Oversee the operational delivery of the 24 hour team/service for ACMI, AOG and charter contracts (for the UK and overseas offices) including: Monitoring flights and calling airline operations to check flight departures. Managing any crew requirements Providing information to clients and suppliers. Responsible for the day to day data management of their Flight Watch Board. Identify and develop key supplier relationships and provide support for the implementation of supplier strategy including capturing supplier data. Ensure that data and activity driven by the team is updated and logged in the CRM. Provide input and support for the preparation of reports including performance data, passenger surveys, analysis and reporting. Generally assisting other team members with administration, creating contracts and documents from our standard templates.

  • 24hr Commercial Aviation Manager - Accountabilities:

  • 24hr Commercial Aviation Manager - Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • 3 years+ ACMI broking experience
  • Excellent understanding of the ACMI leasing industry and potential airline prospects worldwide ? Airline/Aviation industry operations experience
  • Commercially astute with the ability to set the commercial direction for the team, maximise margins whilst providing an excellent service to the customer
  • Management skills and experience with the desire to develop and mentoring team members
  • Customer focused with first rate people skills
  • Highly target driven individual, motivated to 'Win' business
  • Excellent IT skills with a knowledge of Microsoft Word, XL and Outlook and the ability to learn and develop the functionality of a new system
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure rigorous contract and project deadlines are met
  • Calm under pressure and able to problem solve and find alternative solutions/options
  • Able to travel to meet clients and suppliers worldwide
