River Cruise Consultant - 12 month Maternity cover - Competitive salary

This luxury River Cruise Tour Operator are looking for a River Cruise Consultant to join their sales team. Their River Cruise Consultants are the heartbeat of everything they do. Servicing their guests and travel agent partners as a team from the first point of enquiry right through until post travel, their mission is to deliver a sales and service experience that matches up with the 5-star experience their guests enjoy on board their ships. A positive, solution-focused and customer-centric approach is essential, as is a willingness to go the extra mile to secure each booking and to service each guest.

River Cruise Consultant - Role and responsibilities

• Answer telephones promptly and courteously, with a smile.
• Ensure that the full booking process is adhered to including sending step letters and making concierge calls.
• Add and quote air to match the cruise itinerary Keep up to date with new itineraries, new brochures, special offers etc.
• Maximise earning potential of each client and roactively pursue sales by upselling and cross-selling where appropriate
• Ensure clients full details are received, follow up on all enquiries, quotes, brochure requests by phone and/or email
• Create new group bookings
• Administer existing groups - updating group manifest, managing payments, allocation of tour escorts
• Follow up with the Regional Sales Managers to ensure groups are being actively promoted
• Assist in finalising of Charters & Part Charters
• Keep all files, booking and client records fully up to date and processed in a timely manner
• Chase options and balance payments
• Attend and host ship visits, client and agent functions as required
• Develop personal relationships with clients and suppliers
• Assist with investigation into any Guest Relations challenges raised, bringing to a satisfactory resolution
• Assist and support the business with proactive and positive suggestions and ideas
• Be prepared to act upon and develop the proposals you make
