We are looking to recruit a Head Chef to lead the kitchen team here at The Victoria. A background with either Rosette or Michelin experience, having worked in a fast-paced and high-volume environment, is preferred. We need a Head Chef who is able to adapt and is a true team player through and through, and being able to work closely with the front of house team in a cooperative and motivational manor is imperative. The Head Chef will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring that the highest quality of food comes out of the kitchen and that all chefs are working to the highest standard. Someone with a true passion for food, the ingredients and supplier’s products would be most desired. 

Ideal Candidate

• At least 5 years’ kitchen management experience with at least 2 years as a senior sous or head chef

• Demonstrable success in managing a kitchen team with experience of consistently delivering high-quality food whilst maintaining appropriate margins

• To be a strong, capable leader who is able to recruit and develop a strong BOH team

• Ability to work within brand guidelines on menus and recipes whilst still bringing in their own flair and passion

• Ability to make good decisions in regard to the business and the varied situations that arise in fast-paced hospitality venues

• Competent user of IT, including Microsoft Officeand Stock Systems

• Understanding of H&S, FSMS and similar to ensure all required standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety are complied with for both the team and guests alike

• To be a confident, respectful communicator; able to clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders in an engaging and collaborative way

• To have a tangible and infectious passion for food and hospitality

• To be a team player who is flexible with availability dependant on the needs of the business. Shift, weekend and evening working will be required

• To be self-motivated, able to work independently with your own initiative

• To be a Brand Ambassador, aligned with the restaurant’s values: have talent, passion, be nurturing, and striving for excellence in all that you do

• Remaining calm in adverse situations, being able to take control of the situation
