Responsible for maximizing airline revenues in the United Kingdom and Ireland via all distribution channels (B2C and B2B) through the most effective and innovative sales and marketing plans.
A business leader who provides effective guidance to the team and helps position the company as an international airline with the highest level of customer service.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sales and marketing strategy – Collaborate with central Marketing in the formulation and implementation of the UK/EI sales and marketing strategy to ensure alignment with Air Transat’s strategy.
- Revenue maximisation – Manage sales and distribution channels to maximize revenues and load factor
- Air Transat representation – act as a public face of the company in relevant markets, maintain and develop relations with clients, partners and institutions
- Budget management – Contribute to the preparation of functional/departmental budgets to ensure alignment with the approved general budget.
- People development – Manage the effective achievement of objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff in order to maximize subordinate performance.
- Coordination – Supervision of the office administrative functions.
- General Sales Agents Management - Manage relationship with existing agencies to deliver market/revenue share and assess any present or future contracting needs.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in defining sales and marketing strategies and objectives to ensure alignment with overall company objectives and external trends.
- Develop and monitor sales and marketing plans by channel and segment to ensure the sales strategy is properly implemented and expected results are reached across the markets.
- Manage the overall direction and coordination of the sales and marketing team to achieve and exceed agreed sales targets.
- Develop and maintain effective brand positioning in line with Air Transat’s objectives.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with third parties (e.g. travel agencies, company partners, airports, government organizations) to ensure effective brand positioning among strategic clients.
- Liaise with local government and airport authorities to ensure Air Transat’s compliance with all local regulations and policies.
- Liaise/coordinate with all head office departments (Legal, Finance, Marketing, RM, Commercial, Operations, etc.) to ensure smooth and prompt issue-resolving.
- Exploit new commercial channels and opportunities.
- Organize and conduct regular strategic meetings with GSA ensuring performance management and market share control
- Manage existing GSA portfolio and explore opportunistic avenues
- Monitor sales KPIs and dashboards to identify areas of improvement, new initiatives and propose corrective actions.
- Negotiate, implement and review sales incentive schemes and pay-out for the assigned area of responsibility to ensure timely and proper recognition of sales targets.
- Act as key point of contact in case of issues (internal/external) to ensure prompt response and avoid impacts on business/company’s image.
- Ensure maintenance of the highest level of customer service in UK Sales and Reservations, including efficient coordination with the call centre(s)
- Maintain a close working relationship with the Canadian Embassy in the United Kingdom and Ireland and other organizations associated with travel to/from Canada.
- Liaise/coordinate with all head office departments (Legal, Finance, Marketing, RM, Commercial, Operations, etc.) to ensure smooth and prompt issue-resolving.

REQUIREMENTS
- University degree, preferably in air transport management, sales and marketing or business administration.
- Minimum 10 years’ airline experience, including 5 years at a management level, preferably in a similar role.
- Proven track record in airline sales & marketing and managing a diverse workplace.
- Excellent people-management communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong negotiating skills and cross-cultural awareness
- Good analytical skills to make positive use of a broad range of complex data and information.
- Results-driven.
