Health & Safety Manager

Job Purpose Overview:

The remit of Health & Safety Department is to monitor the quality and health & safety standards within the business portfolio of hotels and accommodation and work with suppliers to improve standards as necessary. Additionally provide support to our agents requiring information to help them confidently purchase our products

Key Responsibilities:

• Working alongside various departments within the wider business liaise with the hotels and DMC in destinations to gather, improve and monitor the standards in terms of quality and health and safety.
• Owning the processes and functions for completing Health and Safety auditing for the company.
• Maintaining and updating data held in the company regarding each hotel globally on offer to our customers.
• Defining and delivering a training program to be embedded throughout the global business for local staff to be able to support the business in delivery of a safe and high quality product in all destinations.
• Supporting the customer supporting teams to find solutions with suppliers when trying to achieve customer satisfaction in the face of a complaint or incident relating to quality and standards.
• Developing a UK team to manage functions and processes to develop and maintain quality services overseas.
• Responsible for implementing an emergency response and crisis management process and policy in line with the company Safety Management Standards (SMS) and deliver training to all global destinations to Be ‘ready for anything’.
• Managing the safety and standards of a portfolio of over 10,000 online accommodations overseas through a direct and self auditing program.
• Establishing processes to support communications with B2B operation and provide support to the direct customers.
• Working collaboratively and negotiating with suppliers and agents to deliver the agreed SLA and provide a safe travel environment for all mutual customers.
• Responsible for destination visits annually to fulfil the company due diligence requirement for auditing.
• Ownership of health & safety mailboxes.

Qualifications

• A strong academical background 

Knowledge & Experience

• Knowledge of the ABTA and FTO recommended standards in terms of hotel safety.
• Experience of working in an overseas Hotel purchasing or support role
• Working travel experience essential.
• Strong customer care skills.
• European languages knowledge beneficial.
• Experience working within travel preferred but not essential.

Work Placement

• Work from any of our European offices or based at home, Extensive travel necessary.
