Vestey Foods UK is a fourth-generation family business that operates in the sourcing, the development, the production and the distribution of food products. It provides a wide range of food products for foodservices, retailers, public institutions, wholesalers, and manufacturers in the UK and in Ireland.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercial sales manager with a proven record. The role will involve wholesale and commercial trading to develop and maintain national accounts within this market sector and will require travel within the UK and overseas to manage customer and supplier accounts.
We are looking for self-motivated, ambitious and entrepreneurial candidates with a proven track record of profitable sales delivery within current and emerging markets. Experience of wholesale and commercial trading and a working knowledge of the Fish & Seafood sector is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, build and maintain customer accounts in terms of sector targets, volume and profit.
Lead or contribute to achieving new customer accounts/business gains, whilst defending current business accounts by ensuring good working relationships are maintained with current account base.
In conjunction with your manager compile and implement a new business development growth plan for agreed territory.
Work closely with Business Development team in the production of specific account promotional material.
Financial control within budgetary remit.
Work closely with relevant teams on tender submissions and pricing structure.
Liaise with the Credit Control department regarding the credit rating of the prospective customer following the completion of the Credit Application Form.
Health & Safety and legal obligations – adherence to company policies and procedures.
To ensure excellent customer service.
Proven track record of profitable sales delivery
Working knowledge of fish & seafood sectors
Ability to maximise selling opportunities by analysing customer needs
Ability to interpret, understand and act on financial data
Good level of IT and numeracy skills
Good verbal communication skills both telephone and face to face
Strong written communication skills
Good organisational skills, time management and able to prioritise workloads
The ability to engage and inspire with customers and colleagues
Own wholesale and commercial trading portfolio is desirable.
