Chinese Speciality Chef De Partie

Up to £12.36 per hour + free meal on shift

40 hours per week - Monday to Friday

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Chef De Partie to join our team in Reading.

You will be assisting the Chef Manager and Sous Chef with all areas of the kitchen including health and safety and general managing to ensure exceptional guest and food service.

This is a unique opportunity for a candidate who has a passion for high quality food service, who has experience in driving success and adapting to change.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring as directed that all food is prepared to the correct temperatures and processes according to Food Safety Act) and that it is probed and logged before service.
  • Ensure all cooked food is stored correctly and in the correct fridges
  • Ensure as directed that refrigeration temperature logs are being maintained
  • When required, man the food servery
  • Report any faults on kitchen equipment to the Head Chef/Sous Chef
  • Carry out general cleaning tasks according to the cleaning schedule to
  • maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen
  • To be aware of all relevant emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Basic food production and cooking tasks. Following kitchen operational guidelines as laid down in the Operations/Standards manual. Assist the kitchen team as directed in the efficient running of any of the food preparation sections in the kitchen.
  • Experience of Chinese cuisine and Dimsum production is preferred.
  • Previous experience of working in a busy kitchen
  • Previous experience of working in a customer-focused environment
  • Basic food hygiene knowledge
  • Experience in Western cuisine or Pan Asian cuisine and cooking techniques
  • To be able to work accurately to tight deadlines
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • Discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to work on own initiative and make appropriate decisions
  • Well presented, pleasant manner
  • Be flexible, able to work shifts
  • Be an effective team player
