We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our fast-paced innovative company. We are seeking an ambitious and motivated individual who is keen to meet the challenges of contributing to a dynamic environment. Working directly for the Head of Finance but with significant stakeholder management with the country MD and Operations team, the successful candidate will possess interpersonal and communication skills along with good problem-solving ability.

This role will be part of the Ireland finance team which supports our business with concise, high impact, proactive reporting, forecasting and analysis. It involves measuring & analysing the performance of the sector to budget and forecasts; developing and managing models; and providing a clear understanding of the key drivers and trends within your business area. You will provide challenge as necessary and ensure risks and opportunities are clearly understood.

PURPOSE: Independent Finance Support

  • Act as a financial leader within the sector team through insight and challenge
  • Analyse, interpret and translate financial information for the sector leadership team to support business decision making
  • Drive visibility of current trends with a focus on the forward-looking implications and understand the financial risks and opportunities arising
  • Assist the Head of Finance to develop and improve monthly reporting processes
  • Ensure balance sheet integrity for the sector and drive working capital improvements

 

PERFORMANCE

  • Design and maintain appropriate standard monthly reporting
  • Support the translation of business activity into financial impact, including key assumptions, estimates and sensitivities. Addressing queries on reported numbers as requested by both operational and finance teams
  • Take active role in monthly business reviews, balance sheet reviews and working capital reviews and consolidating and escalating key risks/ opportunities to senior stakeholders
  • Support with the budgeting and forecasting process, including co-ordination of sector timetable in line with UK&I timetable, understanding variances and preparing analysis for senior stakeholders
  • Perform sensitivity analysis upon key planning drivers
  • Monitoring initiative delivery plan, challenging operational teams where there is a risk to achievement and highlighting to senior stakeholders
  • Adherence to internal and external review & filing deadlines
  • Operation of robust and rigorous controls over financial reporting processes to meet internal and external standards
  • Utilise data management, analytics and reporting tools to continually optimise processes both within finance and the wider business

 

New Business & AIC Approval process

  • Analyse sales proposals and build financial proposals through analysis of existing estate and Investment and project outcomes
  • Complete internal sign off documents (CAF) and support presentation of proposition through sign off process
  • Facilitate Sector, UK&I and Group approval process as necessary
  • Record outcome of the reviews
  • Actual v CAF reporting and analysis understanding key reasons behind trading variances to model and impact on forecasts
  • Drive Post investment appraisals review for subsector
  • Review Sales commission request to drive UK compliance

 

PEOPLE: Relationship Management

  • Support the development of junior team members and facilitate in training courses for new team members

 

Key Skills and Experience:

 

Essential:

  • Experience of business partnering with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to challenge, influence and persuade at all levels
  • Strong quantitative and analytical competency
  • Financial modelling and reporting skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Business analysis and decision-making support, including financial analyses and modelling
 

Desirable:

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with varied experience in accounting roles
  • Project support, ie streamlining operational processes and reporting on same
  • Experience of operating within a multi-site, multi-contract organisation
  • Previous experience in a similar industry
  • Good working knowledge of SAP & Cognos
