The full time Destination Experiences Product Executive is a key member of the team who will contribute to the successful launch and development of a new cruise brand. The purpose of the role will be to assist the Product Manager in the construction and safe delivery of quality Destination Experience programmes which consistently deliver high levels of guest satisfaction and maximise revenue and profit for the brand.

The role will be located in our head office in Purfleet, Essex, Monday to Friday (09:00-17:30). An element of working from home can be considered. Out of office hours rotation (weekday, weekend, and bank holidays) will be in place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare & present competitive reviews of Agents.
  • Manage relations with Agents, including product, negotiation & performance whilst striving to reduce costs.
  • Finalise programmes which identify consumer trends, maximise opportunities, revenue & profitability, in line with processes, deadlines & minimum requirements. 
  • Write descriptions which will actively promote & sell the chosen programmes.
  • Prepare & present pricing proposals for chosen programmes.
  • Prepare & maintain sales & inventory for review and appropriate action.
  • Prepare & finalise cruise plans encompassing all relevant information & documentation. 
  • Prepare & finalise additional operational information documentation as required. 
  • Ensure all documentation relating to DE is accurate & produced to deadlines, prior to delivery.
  • Maintain frequent communication with the DE Manager and Agents for each port of call during planning and implementation.  And, in the event of late minute alterations to the published itinerary or Experience’s programme, assist & agree amendments where necessary.
  • Prepare & present end of cruise documents & reconciliation of accounts.
  • Review & revert on pre and post cruise guest communication.
  • Act as key liaison for DE for nominated ship(s).
  • Participate & deliver onboard meetings at selected turnarounds.
  • Support DE Administrator responsibilities in their absence.
  • Travel on board to gain product & operations knowledge, providing full feedback.
  • Represent the company at agreed site inspections, selected conferences, associate functions, industry events & on familiarisation trips.
  • Take part in any other activities for the company which may or may not be related to the Destination Experiences Department.

Key attributes:

  • Strong commercial awareness & a flexible, methodical & organised approach.
  • Experience within the cruise industry and in an excursion contracting role.
  • Experience on board cruise ships in an Excursion role.
  • Excellent research skills & extensive knowledge of worldwide cruise destinations.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage a heavy workload to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively through all levels within the organisation & with local suppliers.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes.
  • Fluent in English written and spoken, minimum requirement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills & the ability to work under pressure & manage their own and the department priorities.
