Burgh House is seeking a Wedding and Private Event Manager to join the small dynamic management team at Burgh House. The job is perfect for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who can take this role and make it their own. It is an exciting time of growth for Burgh House, currently the busiest wedding venue in Camden. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter with fresh ideas and a flair for detail and presentation who will ensure Burgh House is shown to its best and provides the highest level of service to everyone that walks through its doors.
Background information
Burgh House is a Queen Anne Grade-I listed mansion house set in a beautiful terrace garden and is a registered charity. It is located at the heart of Hampstead Village close to Hampstead Heath. It serves the community as an art centre, museum, meeting place, gallery, recital venue, and party and wedding venue. The Café runs from the basement and the charity offers a programme of temporary exhibitions and events.

Burgh House and Hampstead Museum CIO has three core strategic objectives:
1. To provide a diverse range of cultural and community events for audiences of all ages and at
accessible prices.
2. To conserve and expand our collection of artefacts, artwork and documents relevant to
Hampstead and its residents, promoting and recording the history of the Hampstead area, and
to provide outreach and education for the local community and further afield across all age
ranges and demographics.
3. To preserve, restore, improve and provide access for all to the grade-I listed historic building
that is Burgh House.
Job Outline
The wedding and Private Event Manager will be responsible for looking after our Wedding and Private Hire clients from enquiry and booking through to the delivery of their event and follow up afterwards.
Burgh House has a small dedicated team working together to set and achieve the aims and goals of the organisation. All senior staff as keyholders take a responsibility and pride for the appearance, security and everyday smooth running of the operation, doing what is necessary day to day to keep the charity running and growing. As a small team all staff must have an understanding of all aspects of the charity and a willingness to step in to cover and support when needed.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Make sure Burgh House is always presented at its best, clean, smart, tidy, signage clear and dressed to impress
- Responding to wedding and private hire enquires in a detailed and timely manner.
- Arranging meetings and show-rounds with potential clients .
- Sell the House and catering to prospective clients
- Ensure clients details are taken properly, create contracts for bookings and ensure paper work and calendars are up to date
- Ensure booking deposits and balances have been paid and recorded.
- Promote Burgh House for weddings and private events online and provide content for Front of House Manager for social media.
- Create timelines for private events with clients and ensure these are recorded in the diary.
- Create detailed running sheets for events.
- Work closely with catering team to ensure the best quality of selling, planning and delivery of weddings and private events.
- Oversee the details, set up and running of weddings and private events in the House.
- Follow up after events with clients, returning damage deposits and getting feedback.
- Work closely with management team to ensure the smooth running of operations within Burgh House.
