Job Purpose:
To provide day-to-day operation of the bar at The Millbrook Golf Club, providing excellent quality drinks and service to members and their guests, acting as host to early morning visiting groups/societies and ensure a warm welcome to everyone who uses the facility. Maintain the required 5* standard.
Hours - Vary subject to daylight hours
Average 45-55/week April to October (pro-rata)
Average 30-40/week November to March (pro-rata)
Includes an expectation to work evenings and weekends with some late finishes and early starts.
Responsibilities as follows:
Bar Service:
- Ensure the bar is open and ready for business on time.
- Ensure you are dressed appropriately for working as per dress/hygiene guidelines.
- Ensure club policies regarding dress and behaviour are adhered to by staff, members, and guests.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic workplace.
- Cleaning tables, surfaces, glass storage shelves, drinking glasses and floors.
- Maintain a tidy and presentable clubhouse inside and outside areas.
- Coffee machine, bar and cellar maintenance as required with shift pattern
- Assist other areas of business as appropriate.
- Document bar wastage & checks throughout the day.
- Proactively inform the FB Manager & staff of ‘out-of-stock’ items.
- Delivered stock should be checked in and appropriately stored, any discrepancies should be highlighted asap to your line manager.
- Prepare and serve high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, food, and snacks to specification.
- Take orders and process payments using the EPOS till system
- Customer identification and age verification
- Engage with customers & promote current menu changes, new products etc.
- Ensuring the bar and clubhouse, and all monies are secured at the close of business and record daily figures.
- Using the diary provided, ensure that any forthcoming events are prepared for: This includes food and beverage provision, setting of tables and preparing the room for guests
- Work as an active and co-operative member of the team, willing to be flexible in approach to changes in practises and customer needs.
- Promote a relaxed, friendly, and welcoming environment always.
- Do everything reasonably possible to promote and maintain the good name of the club, both internally and externally, in the golfing world and in the general community.
Specifics:
- You will be expected to cover a minimum of 6 weekend days each calendar month to fit with other staff down-time.
- You will be expected to make yourself available for special events where all staff are required to work.
